wearing a "whyonearth"top today as in why on earth did you buy a top in a colour that does not suit you with puffed sleeves and horenzontal stripes?............only going to aqua fit so does not matter....actually could do aqua in the garden as soooooo wet:(:(:(:(
I love that 'whyonearth' I am sure we all have several of these :rotfl:Flickering_Ember wrote: »I've always been told you should wear a new bra on the loosest fitting, so that when it stretches, you can use the tighter fittings to get the appropriate level of support.
Even in the same shop, different bras in allegedly the same size can differ greatly and it's really frustrating.
And for a full house, I was told you should only ever wear your bra on the middle hook and never ever the loosest (not quite sure of the point to having the others there then?!) We were talking bras at work today and a couple of people said Primarni ones can be quite good - I actually get my sports bras from there, but then I don't have all that much to stop bouncing and if I managed to give myself a black eye with one of my melons i'd be a bloomin contortionist :rotfl::rotfl:
Oh, sending another of the bra's back to Debs I ordered (and the knickers) don't really like the knicker fabric and only really kept the bra cos it had the matching knickers.....oh the trauma!Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Oh dear - now I don't know how bras should be!
A friend swears by Primani as she gets lovely bra & knicker sets for really cheap so can always match! She doesn't need much support though...Virtual Sealed Pot Challenge #148 - £59.93

Just to add to the confusion, I was told to buy bras that fit on the middle set of hooks so you can adjust if they stretch or shrink. Which seems sensible but as other people have said you just have to try lots on don't you cos they're all different even in Marks. I'm currently finding sports bras best cos they have such comfy paddy straps - am I showing my age?! :rotfl: :rotfl:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I also have several 'Why On Earth' (WOE ?!) items... usually things that in the shop looked like they fit my bust OK and afterwards turned out to be too small/ slip down/ gape. Even a certain retailer which claims to cut for bigger boobs clearly doesn't bother to have its models actually move in the clothes, I have one lovely dress where I had to stitch the front to avoid showing the world my bra every time I breathed
Re. bras, I would agree with buy a band size that fits tightly on the loosest hook to start with, so that you can move inwards when it stretches slightly. Once you have that sorted then go up the cup size til you have sufficient space - though not all styles fit the same, and I think the cup varies more than the band so worth varying by a size or so if necessary. Brav1ssim0 or John Luwis would be my first stops for properly trained fitters - and you don't have to buy anything, you can just get fitted, try things and then walk straight out to Pr1mark knowing what size flatters you. I tend to buy from M&S, JL or Brav1ssim0 but that's because I'm a 32F and most of the cheaper places don't do anything over a DD. The more expensive ones do tend to last better but Marks are a good compromise. I also tend to buy colours now as then they last longer simply by not going grey :rotfl:
It does make a difference having the right size, it drives me nuts now when you see people with double-boob effect from overspill or squeeze-em-together-and-show-off-your-sun-damage cleavage, or the teenage favourite of 'I wish my boobs were this big, but they're not so you can see the bra cup creating a ridge n' hollow across my chest' - it's just not necessary. That's quite apart from the effects from the back. I have total paranoia about fat back effect now :rotfl: and it's noticeable that the bras that have stretched or are a worse fit cause more lumps/ lines at the back.
Ok rant over

Before I got distracted, I actually popped in to announce I bought a pair of cute slippers yesterday - but they were only £5 in Sainsbugs and I had £7.50 of Nectar points to spend so I consider them free and therefore not to be added to my total
So still at £195/£500

I hate m&s bra's i've had a few all looked fine and fitted ok in the shop but then we're really uncomfty and dug into me, my new fav bra's are acually from very (i keep getting them in the sale aswell i have 2 sets now they were £4 for 2
)
I also like primark but as i'm a 38dd i do struggle to find sets i like, and then i have to swap the pants over cause there an 18 where as i'm a 14, i do make a point of never putting them on a hanger tho so no-one ends up with the wrong sizes, hubby hates and i do tend to try buy seperates if i'm buying but sometimes the sets are nice and alot cheaper.
got some new socks,t-shirts and jammies for hubby, the rest of us just got socks last weekend but hubby paid with free money he got from selling something for profit so doesn't really count, today i'm in old jeans and a ebay jumper i got at the start of winter with my £1.99 h&m dress/top over it.DEC GC £463.67/£450

Morning all, just a quick note to say that apart from a new swimming costume, I haven't bought any clothing, footwear or bags for the last 16 days. I think this is this a world record for me! I do need some new underwear and sportswear, which I am not sure gets to feature in my budget.
Well done Fedupandskint, your hard work will pay off.
have a great weekend all, see you next week.

maybe they want that so people will ask where you bought the nice bra!!!
I get measured at Bravissimmo about once a year(unless I seem to have change size and am feeling uncomfortable) I usually buy 1 bra from them and then go online to brastop or figleaves (through Quidco) and buy bras on offer from them, last seasons ones usually the cheapest.....tho this week I bought a Freya from Debs that was cheaper than online so pays to shop around!
for the unlitmate experiance go to rigby and Peller, they spent over an hour fitting me in a lovely room and even brought me drinks(yes I know they do not have that many shops but if you get the chance)only pity was they only had one bra thta fitted my 34Gs:rotfl:but I later bought two from Debs at a fraction of the cost that Rigby charge....the bra I got from them was £82:eek: but it was a mystery shop so i did not pay(nor would I!!!)
trouble i found with Marks is they don't stock every size, when I was a 34F they did not sell that size and i had a lokk for 34Gs and thye only had a few boring ones:(0 -
I think I've managed another no spending month unless this cough goes and I make it out of the flat tomorrow or Monday... then again, I don't have the turn of speed to chase those shoes and bras:rotfl:‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.
