AJ good to hear it all turned out ok. For your own sake, it's worth remembering what this and many other internet forums can be like; remind yourself that when you hang your washing out on the line you shouldn't be surprised when the neighbours make disparaging comments about your choice of washing powder..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0 -

No, I know. I'm a sodding idiot. :rotfl:I do often stop myself from starting threads but some get through the net when I'm really bothered.
Must be great to have a social network in real life. I just have you lot to moan to.
Ach well. I'm sure there's worse things in life I could do.
*goes off to try to reinforce the 'don't start threads' thought*

Actually I think it only became a problem when the OP opened the xbox and took out the game to give to someone else. Up until that point the OP could have taken the purchase back. Maybe the OP paid less than £200 and stood to gain.
The ex husband has shown himself to be reasonable by sending the money instead.
However maybe the excitement of the ex buying his son something for a change clouded the OP's judgement and having been let down many times before her reaction was appropriate. The most potent weapon of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed. Steve Biko0 -

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -

So, to recap.....
I only bought the xbox because I was bitter and just wanted to muscle in and take the credit.
I was at fault for just accepting what was said when I really shouldn't have believed it and should have checked the person did what they said they would. (Despite the fact the man in question is a grown adult of 50 and not 2.)
I should not have interfered. Me interfering is much worse than whatever the lad would have felt on xmas morning and whatever behaviour this would have resulted in.
I've perhaps paid less than £200 and wanted to profit from the situation.
I think that's it all? Is that all the things people want me to accept?
Got it.
C'mon guys, are we really going to keep this going? It's done and dusted and I've already genuinely accepted the reasonable points. The rest of the accusations and assumptions are just pointless shoite and I'm hardly going to take them on board so what's the point?
< Still not spitting the dummy out, just becoming a tad tired of the amount of 'add ins' to what was really only a very basic situation. Herman - MP for all!

Glad it's all sorted, I've been in the same situation several times when I thought ex was going to disappoint the kids (again).
The main thing though is did your son like his present? Whatever their ages and abilities all we mums want is to make our kids happy

Thanks dibuzz. He did like it, he had asked for a particular version and was very happy he got it. He was like an excitable rabbit all flipping day and was up at the crack of dawn to creep downstairs to see if it was still under the tree.
(He knew it was but still had to check, lol.) Herman - MP for all!

Get the thread closed?;)0 -
Nah, simply because you get further accusations of dummy spitting if you do that.
