Hello!
Well done to all. I've just spent an hour reading this thread and catching up on Mr B's diary. A particular 'hello' to Mrs B. I am almost same age and also hoping for similar finiancial achieements by the the time I hit that dreaded big birthday.
After having binned any kind of moneysaving, or weightwatching over the past week or two, I'm back. I ashamed to say my weight at the beginning was 12st 5, now it's 12st 8 after having thrown all caution to the wind, eaten more cheese and meat than I usually would in a couple of months, drunk all the red wine, purchased three items of clothing and stopped tracking my daily spend. i'll have to guess at what I don't have receipts for when I tackle my spreadsheets for the the first time since mid December. Bad, bad, bad but much needed respite from reality on my first whole fortnight off in two years.
I did at least make £50, my split of a band fee for playing at a christmas do, which I didn't expect. My goal on the money is to pay £2k debt, making extra where I can but mostly in cutting my outgoings and pulling in a little extra when I can.
Re weight, I guess i'm aiming for 1st....this may change as see how I get on.
Happy that the start date remains as originally set.
Phew.

Forgot to give my aiming for date which will be 26th April 12
Found a fiver in change whilst sorting old handbags & purses for ebay so saved £255 in total so far
No weight loss (but no gain so thats a bonus) & after a lazy PJ morning I am off out for a 3 mile walk to get the metabolism working.
Woohoo lets all go for it guys!!:j:j:j:j0 -
Weigh-in yesterday went wrong - the scales said I'd put on 1st 3lb!! New battery inserted and now only gained 3lb over Christmas so not too bad! Also got £20 from surveys
Weight 12st 10lb Money gained £20 Thanks to Mr Bloater for doing the stats and thanks to everyone for all the interesting comments and suggestion and Happy New Year to everyone. Two stone two grand four months challenge
Start weight 12st 7lb Lost 1 :j
Money saved £650 :j:j:j0 -
a quick money update before I forget - £140 from returns of clothes; £28.54 from using Boots points instead of cash to stock up on Nappies and Hair care products to tame my wild hair (need to get little monkey potty trained - but he is not quite ready - so no need to force it - have a few months to go before it will become necessary - but oh the money we will save
); £15 I found in my coat pocket (this is in addition to the other £15 I found in Mr. B's junk bucket!) SO that is £183.54 so far today! Well off to bake a birthday cake for grandad Bloater - they kids and grandparents will have the party while Mr B and I are back at work - so we will be saved from the temptation of eating cake and party food - phew! Well, back to reality tomorrow - no more holiday mode and pj days until Feb! Will touch base next weekend with weigh in stats unless I make more money!

Well I weighed myself yesterday as it was my start date and luckily I had remained the same. I think it helped that I was feeling a bit rough after a party New Year's so I didn't eat too much yesterday.
Also thanks to hex2 about Zapper for selling books. I didn't know about this website, so went on to take a look and have now made my first bit of money towards my £2000 target. Its only £10.18 but was on some books which were just cluttering up the bookcase in the living room. I can now move of the books that I have upstairs in piles on the floor into the bookcase downstairs!
So my update for MrB weight 11st8 and money towards target £10.18
Am off to see what else I can sell. Think some of the baby stuff is going to go on ebay next weekend. I will be working away during the week, so cannot get them listed during the week.DD1 born May 2002, DD2 born Dec 2005, DS born Dec 2008. Baby due May 2010! TEAM PINK!!

Hey Everyone!
Can I please join you all? I'm already trying to lose weight, and have been looking for some sort of savings challenge to take part in, so this is perfect!!! :j
My start weight is 14st 12, so aiming for 12st 12. I weigh in on weds so will hopefully be able to add a loss then. I've been getting into an exercise routine over the last few weeks so will try and keep that up, along with at least 20 mins a day on the power plate, plus the healthy eating.
As for the money side of things, the aim is to have the full £2000 in my bank account (well, Zopa account) by 2nd May. I'm already on the make £10 a day challenge (although have downsized to £5 a day recently) so will be adding any earnings from that, and will try and get back into ebay as well as I've got plenty of things to sell.
The first page of the £10 a day thread has some great ideas for money making, so hopefully this will help someone... https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3699515
Good luck everyone, back soon...

I have been thinking about how I am going to be able to reach the £2000 target. Myself and my husband run our own company and have done so for the last 7 months. Therefore am I allowed to count any new clients and income I get for the company in the next 4 months. We have just about enough income at the moment to live on, but need more to be able to pay off our credit card. If I am allowed, I managed to get a one off job the other day which I have done and have earnt myself £40.DD1 born May 2002, DD2 born Dec 2005, DS born Dec 2008. Baby due May 2010! TEAM PINK!!

@rachelet - of course you are allowed to count new money in your totals - no nitpickers, accountants or car park attendants are patrolling this thread - it's your dosh you decide if it counts or not.
had a look at zapper.co.uk now Mrs B has found a pile of books she doesn't want anymore but I'm going to go down the amazon marketplace route. Wish she'd found them at the start of the holiday but better late than never I guess.2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)

Hi Mr B, first post here but have been following your other diary for ages. Seems I am too late to join this challenge officially but will be joining in as a bystander from tomorrow. Will most definitely be aiming for 2 stone, 2k is out of my reach so i'll be trying for £200 instead. Don't have a great deal of stuff left to sell what i have i'm going to try and sell via some local selling pages on facebook. Mr & Mrs B i think you live in a similar area to me and if you're on facebook why not have a look at the mad cafe selling pages for Kent and also facebay, there's a number of others too and all local people who generally collect the items plus no fees to pay.
Will come back tomorrow to report my starting weight. Good luck and a happy new year to all:idea: LBM Jan 2011 :idea:Total CC Debt [STRIKE]£8621[/STRIKE]/£3530 Family [STRIKE]£734[/STRIKE]/£1123 Overdraft £50050% Paid *** DFD [STRIKE]Oct 2015 :shocked::shocked:0
