We have a DC04 and I cannot remember when we bought it. It no longer rotates, but the suction is great, even with DIY rubble!!
The only time it loses suction, is when something gets caught in one of the pipes, then I have a few minutes respite, and enjoy stripping it down - the missus thinks I am mad!0 -
It no longer rotates,
If the brushbar no longer rotates, it probably just needs a new drive belt. They are available fairly cheaply as a spare. If you have carpet, you'll notice that the rotating brushbar makes a huge difference in lifting dust out.If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!0 -
been looking at this one has anyone got any thoughts on this one please

Ring the helpline, tell them the problem, have the hoover beside you, they talk you through everything and are very patient while you take bits apart.
It should last longer than a year.
The only problem I find is that my Dyson is so heavy when taking it upstairs. But I love the bagless aspect, I hate emptying bags and I think they would be expensive to buy.
Also have a good read of the instruction book.0 -
What a lot of silly sausages you are. I have a DC01 for years and years, and like Trigger's Broom...it's had a new motor, a new hose, a new brush, and a fair few rubber band things. But did you know Dyson provide a complete in-home repair service including parts - very good it is too.
