Miele S6220 Cat & Dog Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner, Tayberry Red
JUST ORDERED IT FROM JOHN LEWIS SEEMS A GOOD PRICE
I got one of these after reading about them here, very good! Plus £30 for 10 year guarantee!0 -
I love my miele, it's fantastic. My parents have had miele for years and it's never given them any issues. They bought a dyson when they first came out for ther shop and it was brilliant, however it died after about 6 years ( fine as was used daily) and they replaced it with another dyson. It was rubbish, they had 3 within warranty period and now have another miele for the shop. I think the original dysons were brilliant but over the past 5 or so years I've had numerous friends that have bought them and all have been problematic.0

I don't remember when was the last time (or ever) I saw the head of Numatic or Miele get interviewed by the bib and such about their vacuum cleaners, I do however see the head and founder of Dyson every other day in the media, a bit like the head of Ryanair.
I support Dyson as they are a big employer in our area but I will never buy one of his dreaded machines. I had the cylinder type one and it's only managed 3 years before the engine stopped working and needed changing.
Numatic, who make Henry, Hetty, George etc, are a UK employer based in Somerset.
One reason I have 2 of their machines - Henry and George - plus I hate vacuuming so a machine with a smile on it cheers me up. I actually brought my 2nd machine from a supplier who also sells their commercial machines as it was cheaper. I also got really good customer serviceI'm not cynical I'm realistic

Full report today please PinkLady. I'll wander into town tomorrow to buy one I think, would be good to hear your initial thoughts. I will DEFINITELY be going for the extra 8 year parts and labour from Miele for £30!!!!!!0 -
I have 2 dysons, once they die I will not be buying another one. How they've got away for so many years describing it as having "no loss of suction ever" is beyond me. To be fair I've had one for about 4 years and the other about 6. BUT that's only because we take them apart every few months to clean them out. They're pretty easy to take apart, look at all movable parts and they just clip off, put them in the shower and blast them with water until all the dirt has come out, often as well the hoses and bends will clog up, these need removing and unclogging every few weeks as well as the big clean every 6 months.
They're a pain and I hate mine with a passion, but as long as they're looked after they do seem to last. To be fair I've had no actual faults with either of mine, it's just the clogging up that makes them rubbish. Try giving it a good clean out and see how you get on.Clean credit file:12 mthsCar loan: FREE! :jTHE PLAN: 1.Pay off debt £8808.42(£3254.45, £1570.32, £2698.33, £0:dance:, £1000, £285.32) 2.Save monthly for Christmas/insurance etc £150 per month 3.Save for emergencies /£1500 4.Save for our B&B £????depends which one takes our fancy0 -
well taken charge of the miele and must say it is gorgeous been using it for 3 hours now. I have never had a dyson that had as much suction as this one. Now doing the stair carpet and it is lifting the carpet up off the stairs with the power. As it only came with the one bag i shall have to order some quick as by the time i finish the whole house i can imagine the bag will be full up
Hard getting used to cylinder but overall very good and so light doesnt take up too much room and easy to glide around the house plus like the cord storage i was so lazy with my dyson and never rolled the lead back up ever.
