I recommend Sebo too. Ours developed a fault after 3 years and the after sales service is good too. It was fixed and delivered for £50.0

I bought a new dyson a few weeks ago and sooo wish I hadn't. When using the hose the suction is so hard that it takes a huge effort to wrestle it around. I told my husband to try it to see if he agreed and he did. The hose seems to be too hard (cue dirty jokes) and it has no give in it, which, when coupled with the extreme suction make it very hard to manipulate. Does anyone who has a Dyson have this problem and does it get better as the hose gets older?0

the suction wasnt very good on mine so i washed the filter thats at bottom left side(standing behind the dyson) its a lot better now, try checking there are no blockages in all the bits that come apart.0 -
going to take it all apart tomorrow and yes our rollers do go round all the time so i am guessing there is something really wrong with it

When you put the vacuum upright, the brush bar should stop rotating and there should be full suction on the hose only. If that is not the case, you need to remove the hose where it connects at the bottom and re-seat that connection.
Diagrams and instructions on how to do this are on the Dyson website. If you have a removable/washable filter, it's probably a good time to clean that too. Remember to let it dry thoroughly before using the machine. If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!0 -

Which model do you have?
When I rang Dyson customer helpline a few years ago, they advised me to check the dust collection chamber was fully closed. Is the rubber seal still intact under where the dust collection chamber fits in? This can be one of the primary causes of loss of suction.
The brushbar should definately not be moving when the vacuum cleaner is upright. If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!0
