Exactly Steve... People are FAR too quick to leave a negative, for what could be a genuine mistake, and could COST SOMEONE THEIR ENTIRE LIVELYHOOD.

But, hey, what the hell... I'm ok Jack.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:a couple of negs could COST SOMEONE THEIR ENTIRE LIVELYHOOD.

At the end of the day feedback should reflect your experience of that transaction.

If it is a negative experience which I would deem this to be then it is NEG all the way for me, hell go all the way, one stars all round as well!!

At the very most it will make sure the seller checks their listings a bit better before hitting the list item button, Its a power seller after all so they should know better, and in eBay's eyes they can do no wrong.(in my experience anyway)
  • "It will help to ensure he doesn't make the same mistake again."

Possibly yes, but this is the problem with eBay, every little thing and it's a big deal. Mistakes happens, that's life. If it happens in the real world you have a moan and forget about it. A genuine customer focused business would learn from it regardless, the quality of the comms would determine what feedback I leave.

For 50 quid I would have let the seller off, as a seller I'd maybe offer you at cost with (actual) free postage if the margin was slim, if the margin was large I'd just send it.

The fact OP purchased two could be used to argue that knew it was a mis-price and as such no contract was formed.

"If you agree to a cancellation then I don't think you can leave FB but I could be wrong. "

You can still leave any feedback after a cancellation.

"He has a feedback score of 25000, like my neg will make much of a dent."

Large or small, negs hurt unless the seller doesn't give a stuff in which case they probably have lots already.

Your biased opinion is completely incorrect.

So it wont make the seller be more thorough when they list items??

Its my opinion based on previous experiences, so I dont know who you are to question it....

    So based on that...

Your biased reply is totally irrelevant :D
  • Well I am a powerseller (not that I have any interest in the pointless badges awarded by eBay), have been for years, and there is no special treatment at all.

"So it wont make the seller be more thorough when they list items??"

Maybe it will, maybe it won't. It's Christmas, they are probably run off their feet so add a bit of pressure and it leads to a small mistake. Being the season and all, it would make a change if people were sympatithic towards a others over a simple mistake rather than neg neg neg. And the suggestions to refuse to cancel the sale, when it's clear the seller won't sell, is just spite.

and it leads to a small mistake.

Ok look at it like this...

    Seller lists item :)
Buyer buys 2 of these :)
    Buyer gets dispatched email :D
Seller wants more money (for item allegedley already dispatched)
Buyer realises that might not get bargain after all.. :(
And it hasn't really been dispatched after all
    So bargain gone:eek:

That in my opinion is a negative buying experience on eBay :naughty:

    1. The seller listed at the wrong price mistakenly or not.. it was wrong
    2. The seller marked item dispatched yesterday when it wasn't, either mistakenly or to decieve buyer into thinking they dispatch super fast. Then cancelled today!!!

Lets for arguments sake say number 2 was ANOTHER mistake rather than trying to decieve...

Surely 2 small mistakes = a slighly bigger mistake :D
  • Or maybe the dispatch email, was an automated response by a power seller that dispatches items quickly?

    that makes it...

    Seller lists item :)
Buyer buys 2 of these :)
    Buyer gets Auto dispatched email
Seller realises they have made an honest mistake and emails buyer

    Suddenly doesnt look so bad?
  • anyway to see if the seller has done this before? seems like a bait and switch..
Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)
  • IMO this thread is down to two points

1 did the seller set out to deceive the buyer? – IMO – no they didn’t
2 should the seller be punished given the answer to point 1? – IMO – no they shouldn’t

There are lots of less than honest people on ebay, from what I have read, this is not one of them?

If an item hasn't been dispatched then it shouldn't be marked as such...

So power sellers can blame automated reponses on items not really dispatched but marked as such...

    Priceless :rotfl:
