If she wants to deter a guy then she should say that her real name is Dave and she's nearly completed her final round of surgery.

Isn't this the way most of the human population meet their mate? By being chatted up by people that they find attractive? I'm not sure what you guys are trying to achieve by starting this line of thinking? So Jade should dislike ANY man chatting her up? Are you trying to blame her? To darken her character?
The original post wasn't about deterring men who were chatting her up, it was about inappropriate touching. Saying that if a man touched you would be alright if he was good looking is sending a very mixed message!0 -

That is exactly what I meant. Maybe the OP's daughter just chose un unfortunate phrase though. I didn't mean to "darken her character" (dramatic much?) and I certainly didn't mean that women are to blame for inappropriate behaviour from men! Just how January20 got that from my post, I have no idea.0 -
Yes the post does sort of read that if the men were dishy, rich, suave, charming, intelligent, considerate, good sense of humour, then the OP/daughter would not mind
There, I amended it for you!
Actually the OP just wants her daughter to be happy and healthy and unmolested by strangers in London.
Thank to all who contributed to the thread; especially Doodoot who nearly made me spit out my coffee!:rotfl:Light Bulb Moment - 11th Nov 2004 - Debt Free Day - 25th Mar 2011 :j0 -
I know I may get slatted for this and I do believe in my right to wear what I like, but I also prefer to stay safe.
I agree with you.
Some great advice already which I won't repeat. However I just wanted to suggest a large scarf worn over the head when travelling late at night to cover up her hair/face so it's less obvious how attractive she is. I have done this in the past, keeping a pashmina style scarf in a bag for travelling home on late trains. And then looking down, avoiding eye contact with any men travelling alone.0 -
Forget pashminas, just get her one of these:0

So I feel like I should thank my lovely mother for starting this thread, it has definitely been interesting to hear some of your thoughts.
And practice putting a bit of the Glaswegian into your voice. Can be quite intimidating when used properly :A0 -
Intimidating? My boyfriend finds my weegie accent sexy!0
