At the end of the day the 50yr old shouldnt have started anything and should have been the bigger man and walked away after finding out about the facebook incident....

If it had been the other way around i imagine all the people on here would have been having the police throw the book at the 21yr old.
It is better to stay silent and be thought a fool, than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt. :p

exactly my point. Landlady and local thuggery in cahoots = rough pub not to be frequented by those seeking a peaceful night out!

From your further posts you also seem to the think that this thug also has the Police officer in pocket so perhaps a phone call to her inspector is in order as she must obviously be corrupt to lie about CCTV etc. I just hope your son hasn't signed a statement in her pocket book giving a different version of events!

Nope she hasn't even contacted the pub in question.

Absolutely not, this isn't about money this is about what's wrong & what's right.

    Why? They are both adults!

Doesn't matter which way round it happened, it was still two idiots having a row in a pub.

Only difference is, it may have blown over by now as the 50 year olds mum is perhaps less likely to have waded in.
  • You seem to know everybody who goes in the pub, the pub landlady, the rough clientele and their wives

The older man obviously knows your son and his friends and reads his Facebook page.

Obviously not much to do in your part of the world.

Lol you must lead a fairly boring/sheltered life if you think knowing of one pub landlady & knowing one member of her staff is excessive!

Okay I'm confused. You said in your OP posted a short while ago:

Police finally called to see The officer told my son it wasn't assault as he wasn't hurt.
That she had viewed CCTV footage and the uncle hadn't touched him - a lie as I spoke to witnesses just after who confirmed it happended.

So how can you say she said she viewed the CCTV when you know she hasn't contacted the pub.

    Something doesn't add up here.

Any police officer will know that there does not have to be a physical injury for an incident to be classed as assault, it's basic training stuff so I'd be very surprised to hear an officer say this as they would know it's incorrect and for all she knew your son could have been a recent law graduate!

Then you say she viewed CCTV, but then you state there isn't any and she never contacted the Landlady, assume someone is telling you all this.

So now your SON is faced with a choice as only he knows the full facts! He either has a corrupt incompetent police officer dealing with his complaint or he's being economical about the whole incident.

Why would a girl's uncle randomly abuse him verbally over non existent text messages? Text messages have a history so this is easily cleared up.

Also why would the uncle who doesn't speak to your son's friend's family know who her friends were, who was texting her. When I read your OP I thought it strange he denied texting her but said he met her for drinks as most people now make meeting arrangements via text messages.

Ok, the officer told my son she had been to the pub to view the CCTV but, from what I have been told from a reliable source, this is not true.

The text messages in question do exist but they were sent by the uncles niece several weeks ago not by my son.

My son met friends on Wednesday evening after work and this girl was there and chatted quite happily to my son.

I'm guessing the uncle was told about the messages some time ago and has been waiting for the opportunity to have a go at someone about them......my son has been dragged into a petty family argument simply because he is friends of the neice who does not get on with his daughter.
  • You know what you're all bloody right.....my sons fast asleep in bed & I'm sat here stressing about his bloody problem.....I shall leave him to deal with it:beer:

Isn't that always the way with children! My DD is 16 and she gets me wound up and stressed about a problem and then she goes to sleep and I'm left lying awake at night fretting!
