Is this assault?

Police finally called to see my son this evening and, according to my son, the officer was very hostile & quite agressive in her manner.
Looks like the son's card is now marked by the local old bill. Good luck to him with that......................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

i am completley shocked about most responses overt this and JenJo7 would be so frustrated ith the responses apathy! it is not acceptable to speak to ppl like that regardless ho old they are... or their weight so no i doubt a young man could stand his own to a 50 yr old intinidating male like an earlier comment has suggested...
why this is his fault for writing on facebook completley baffles me..
i would suggest making a complaint regarding the police officer. totally unacceptable, please remember they have a responsibility to the community and second you pay tax...
the other comment that they could be dealing with something 'more serious' would soon disappear i feel if they aggression and police response was directed at them.
I maybe completely off track here but why do I suspect that this is the OP's son?
Apologies if I am wrong.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

I've not gone through all this, as some of the comments have got a bit personal but here's my take of it, as a COPPER....
Your boy has told you about something thats happened at a pub, and his account is being backed up by people he knows?
Your son has told you how he has been dealt with by the officer who attended? Or did you hear all of this conversation with the police?
If you're privvy to all this then fine, but if you're a little out of the loop, please consider that things may have been lost in the translation of things.
You're right to defend your son, but I'm thinking something isn't adding up.
From your sons account you have a common assault as his been grabbed and also threats of violence under the public order act.
If you really believe your sons account get him to call the police 101 to lodge a complaint, if he won't then maybe you should. I won't stand by an officer not doing their job, its a neglect of duty, but you may then get an explanation as to why it has been dealt with the way it has been.
And tell your son to grow up, Facebook is nothing but a pain in the !!!!!!!0 -
If this goes any further could the 50 year old also claim assault due to the extreme foul language used to verbally assault him on facebook?52% tight0
