good news on the counselling coming to an end, its good to know that it has made you feel a bit better aswell.

And brilliant to know that the spending diary is helping you, even if you do overspend a little bit at aldi lol

Hi
An overspend in Aldi. hey that can only be good as Im sure it was for food which will last ;)

Well done on having money at the end of the month, its a great feeling, well it was a few months back lol, not quite so good this month but hey its pay day tomorrow :j

Good news on the counselling as well, it is very true that we all need to accept that when things go wrong its not all down to us, but like you I know how hard that can be.

Enjoy the rest of your day and hope things with OH continue to improve and that he appreciates the Bday pressie.

Take care

• Well, what a difference a couple of sunny days make. I'm so pleased that the sun has finally decided to show itself. Just hope it stays longer than a week this time round...
I really feel pleased that I've gotten most of my life in order - there's just one thing that's still really getting to me, and that's my problem with food and overeating. I just cannot get a hang on it. I always used to say that there were only 2 things in my life I couldn't get control of - money and food. Well I'm quite confident about the money now, but I just cannot put myself high enough up the priority list to get my weight under control. This must be my next project, but I'm curious as to how I can make this time different when I've continually failed over the past 12 years to lose weight.
It's like a proper addiction, and one I'm really not sure how to shake. There's not much anyone can tell me about what I should and shouldn't eat, but I can't get over using food as an emotional prop...
Any suggestions most gratefully received. I need to get my mind in the right place and don't know how to.

I am now starting to try and lose weight again. You have to do what works for you. its all about experimenting with what works for you.
You also need to give yourself more proirity. I know how hard it is to make time for yourself but even if its only 10 mins a day to get in a little bit of me time.
Try meal planning, short bursts of exercise, less snacks and sweets.

Glad you have been feeling better in the sunshine, think it is true that it improves everyone's mood.

I understand what you mean about diets and food. I have had a big weight problem for a few years now, not helped by some of the meds I take.

I have a nutritionist coming to see me on Monday (all part of my ongoing treatment) so will let you know what she suggests. I am really desperate to lose weight as it is now impacting things like my knees, hips and ankles and Im not that old :D

I did a post to Blushing Rose last week but have not heard anything so will pm her later and see if I get a response.

Enjoy the weekend looks like its going to stay nice.

Take care

• EEEK!!!
I've lost the plot a bit and been really non mse since Friday. A minor relapse and I'm definitely back on the wagon, but I've lost track of my nsds etc.
Started Friday after school when I picked my daughter up, and she'd worn through her 4th pair of school shoes this academic year. I decided to bite the bullet and buy her Cl@rks shoes as the supermarket shoes are obviously a bit of a false economy. Anyway, I came out of there £47 lighter, and straight into N3xt, where I spent another £41.50 on clothes for me and the kids.
Roll through to Friday night where I picked up my dad's 60th birthday present and 2 father's day presents on Gr0upon for £51, then Saturday when I spent £37.21 in Ald!, £26.99 in t3sco and £40 on tickets for OH's birthday night out. Plus another £40 once we were out, and then £21.50 in S'bury's Sunday and £39 on liquid gold for the car.
AND it's still another day until payday. I don't know where it all came from, however I have done with birthday and father's day shopping for the next month, and have new clothes and shoes for the kids, so it's not been frivolous spending - I just feel really guilty about it now.
Still, I have made it to payday with a tiny bit of money left over, and got straight back on the wagon Monday and yesterday with a couple of nsd's. Just feel as though I've neglected my mse duties a little.
But we all need a blow out every now and then.

Hi WIC,

I've just read through your diary and will be subscribing if that's ok?
You've been through so much and yet you still come across as so level-headed and strong. You are an example to us all!

Well done on your debt-busting so far.

• Hi all, and welcome to you meow - nice to have you along. I've been awol for a little while as it was half term last week and we had our annual family holiday to stay at Flamingo Land in North Yorkshire. It's a fairly cheapish week away as we stay in a friend's caravan onsite and I take along picnic food etc to avoid the cost of eating at the park.
A fantastic time was had by all, however, I am already skint and have most of the rest of the month to go before payday. I think June is just an expensive month for me. I have already had OH birthday (£40), stepdad birthday and still to come Father's Day and my dad's 60th. Had bought him a driving experience through Gr0upon but the driving company were worse than useless, and I've had to fork out for something else (£40) while I'm waiting for a refund with that. Plus my car insurance of £340 is coming out in one chunk this Friday. I feel as through I've been really frivolous this month, but it honestly hasn't been wasteful spending.
I had to hire a van on Saturday (£45), to collect a new (second hand) sofe that my mum was getting rid of. Further expense but cheaper in long run.
Anyway, to stop it getting out of hand I've resurrected my spending diary, because I've not been this skint mid month since I subscribed on here last November.
I'm back on line, and hopefully getting back on the straight and narrow.
Wish me luck...

• Morning all,

Thought it was about time that I got on here and updated. I am lurking on the boards but haven't felt much like posting recently. I feel quite tired and run down and it's all I can do to get through my real life at the moment without worrying about being on here all the time too. I think that it's because I was away for half term week, so I haven't really had a rest from things. Still, only 4 weeks until the summer hols, and 10 weeks today until the wedding.
I got a phone call Wednesday evening from my wedding dress shop to say that my dress has arrived and book me in for my first fitting. And I'm also pleased to report that the diet mentality has finally clicked in! Better late than never, and OK I'm not going to be the slender beautiful bride I had hoped to be but 10 weeks is hopefully enough to make a difference. I'm starting to notice a bit of difference in my clothes too - not much but enough to keep spurring me on. Think I'm letting the weightloss company down a little but hopefully there'll be enough of a change by the big day for them to notice (fingers crossed). Things are clicking into place, and it looks like I'm only going to need to chase a couple of RSVPs at the beginning of next month as well.
The only thing that's slightly worrying me is money. Well, that and OH's health. He's been off sick for 4 months now and things that weren't already tight financially are getting tight, just when we need to start making final payments for things as well. We had saved, so should be ok, but I think it's going to be hard after the wedding if he's not back at work. He is making progress but his anxiety is horrific at the moment. And we're still waiting for his psychiatric referral (from April 16th).

Glad you had a nice half term break

Well done on the weight loss hun, sorry I haven't been around much lately either.

10 weeks to go , so you should be excited. I do hope OH starts to improve and you get his referral soon. As you say noticing weight loss by our clothes comfort is more of a spurt than the scales.

Good luck and take care
