Hi please can someone help me!!!
What it is I had a credit card with Natwest back in 1996 - all I had on it was £1000 limit. I have only ever paid off the minimum payment. I still to this day have a balance of £683. I am now paying it to Westcot Credit Services on a payment plan. I have obviously paid loads of charges on this account. My problem is I need to get copies of my statements from them but am not sure who to contact. I have also noticed that on the agreement with Westcot it tells me the money in going to the Royal Bank of Scotlad. I'm confused - anyone got any ideas???0 -
Royal Bank and Natwest are one and the same now, you need to ask Natwest but be aware any monies reclaimed will be put towards the debt held by the bank.0

Well 1996 is longer than 6 years, so thats the main issue.
In regards to who do you speak to that would be Natwest, the debt recovery people do not have details of what your credit card charges would be. All they have is that you owe them £???.
My partner recently did the same thing on a Natwest CC that was held with debt recovery agency. The amount that she got back was larger than what she owed them so she got the difference and Natwest paid the debt off.
Hope that helps.I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
Seek legal help if unsure.
Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.

Thanks that really helps!! I'll give Natwest a ring 1st and see where I go from there. At least if they take it off my debt I'll still be gaining!!!0

Hi,
Just got a letter today from a collection agent, regarding a barclays account.
This is for £1887.18, they have given me three months to pay it off.
This as come about because of a overdraft limit of £1500, which was three years ago. I went over the overdraft limit, which sored up to around £2600 at one point. I have made payments, though late and not consistantly.
My account has been closed with barclays for while now. All of which has affected my credit rating.
Can i still request past bank statments? (to get charges back at a later date)
Should I accept the three months the agent as given me?
many thanks

Yes you can request your statments. And claim back charges. And you tell the collection agebcy how much you can afford to pay back. They are teying to bully you into oayingn them the top amount you can afford every month. Spread the cost over 1/2/3 years if you want. They can send you to jail for it.0

I have a similar account with natwest, if they do repay your charges they will pay it off your account. So just offer a bare minimum that you can afford to pay.0

I dug out as much old paperwork as I could find on my old store and credit cards, due to the exccessive charges spiraling out of contro, all of these were "defaulted" (which to be completely honest, I still don't really know what that means)
I paid off different amounts to different debt collections agencies, often lower than the amount they had asked for.
I am now sending off for my statements.
What happens when I get my re-ordered statements through? How can I tell what I am entitled to claim for?
Does the fact that the money was paid to debt agencies, instead of the original credit companies, affect my claim?0 -

It means a notation was made on your credit reference file that you failed to keep to your credit agreement and went into arrears. What happens when I get my re-ordered statements through? How can I tell what I am entitled to claim for?
You look through them all, line by line and make a note of any payment that appears to be a punishment. Discount any that you actually received something for.Does the fact that the money was paid to debt agencies, instead of the original credit companies, affect my claim?
Nope. But if any of them get notified of your win then then it is conceivable that they could make a claim.
...but if you don't tell them... neither will weHamsters have no tact and diplomacy, nor do they want any.0 -
Thank you!0
