My dell has arrived, I'm a bit stuck on starting it for first time can anyone tell me

its at the stage where it asks about updates, I dont think its to do with windows, i think its t do with software from dell or whoever
    it says,

yes ALLOW my system to recieve these updates and alerts
    or
yes ALLOW dell to collect service tag and other system and usage data

I cant take it all in, do I tick any of those boxes or should I not tick any at all and just press finish to start for th first time?

    EDIT
Had to tick both of them because i couldnt leave the machine on halfway between settiing up until anyoe could reply. hope ive done the right thing

I would have chosen 'No'. Perhaps you can change it later...

Update on the Sony vaio laptop

A guy who mends laptops and all kinds of things in his spare time had a look at the vaio for us rather than it get sent off anywhere. He changed the keyboard and mouse and those only work in DOS mode for whatever reason, why would that be? she has lost all her data but he transferred all her files and photos to discs beforehand. He said it sometimes happens because he had to take out the motherboard or something to get to the keyboard and mouse, I have heard sonys are very awkward to get into.

He purchased the keyboard and mouse cheaper from somewhere and they cost £40 he said just pay him for that as he hasnt mended it.

He put it through a diagnostic thing for 24 hours and it came up that there are 2 faults on the motherboard, he checked on some forums and found other owners of the same laptop NW20SF with the same issue. He said he could fit a new motherboard for £150 but it could have the same thing happen again and he recommended to buy a new laptop as he said he didnt think it was worth it. He did say something about it would also need a new windows too because it wouldnt match

This keyboard and mouse went when it was 2yrs and a month old and for a laptop costing over £800 its just atrocious I will never recommend vaio to anyone, in fact I will do the opposite.

She now has to get a new laptop, a good one. I do like the vaio keyboard layout and look but shes got to have one thats comfortable to use and is going to last a reasonale amount of time, 2 years is far from that

Can anyone recommend a nice laptop with good spec, i5 or i7

He did also say that he has an acer AMD win7 laptop unused, dual core 8gb ram, 750 hd for £300, is it worth considering that? I should ask what the model number is really
    Thanx
