I'm doing some variation of this recipe: http://www.britishlarder.co.uk/chocolate-salami/#axzz1YCiKbVfR
Seems customisable easily enough and can be made to look good easily.
What a fab website! Managed to find 3 new recipes so will have the mixing bowls out later :T:hello:On mortgage pay off countdown. Less than 8 years to go. :j Won £50 Amazon voucher for filling in a survey, £100 shopping voucher, £20 Odeon voucher, £20 bowling voucher :T Doing a £2 terramundi jar challenge but everyone else seems to have the same challenge as there don't seem to be many £2 coins around!:p0 -

if i was to make mince pies how long could they be kept in a sealed container
If I make mince pies that are not for eating that day I freeze them assembled but uncooked then cook them from frozen when I need them. I open freeze in the trays then pack them into a tupperware container once they are frozen. Just take out, put back intot he tray and bake as many as you want as required.
I find they need an extra 5 minutes or so on top of their normal baking time. My mince pies have stars on top rather than full pastry lids though so that type might need longer.0 -
I really like cookie mix jars so that the recipient can make them whenever they want. You can buy them or make them yourself:

i used to make a couple of dozen and keep them in a cake tin until they were all gone, usually about week or 10 day and i never had any problem with them going off.Cats don't have owners - they have staff!!DFW Long Hauler Supporter No 1500 -

Just made ricciarelli as I got a huge bag of ground almonds from Approved Foods. MMmmmmmm they're so gorgeous warm! Now I just have to try and not eat them for the next 9 days.0

Just wanted to say thanks to all the people sharing on this thread! I'm a proper kitchen phobic, but some of the ideas here looked so easy, I got hooked in despite myself : ) My first batch of fudge is just setting in the fridge, if it works okay, I'll make some with different ingredients for presents in the week. Coconut ice next, I think...
Thanks everyone, give yourselves a big pat on the back and something yummy from your wonderful kitchens...: )0 -
Hi
I have decided for next year everyone is getting homemade stuff as I HATE trying to work out what to buy people. Could someone tell me what snowman soup is though?
thanks
