Glitter plum and apple jam sounds lovely!

I have got a tomato and pepper chutney on simmering at the moment, got an apple and mango one to do next and then an apple and cranberry one. I think I may run out of jars though!!

I am proud to say I can add my bit :D I have done some tomato and onion chutney and chilli jam. I am off to make some gingerbread syrup in a mo and I still have to make:

Tablet or fudge, it was going to be tablet but I think the fudge might be a bit easier, thanks for the recipe!

Christmas Muffin in a jar - would it be to early to do just now, am I better to wait until next week to do it?

'After Eights' - got the recipe on here

Think that's it for this year but will be better organised for next year.

  • I'm doing some Christmas treats this year and my mum will get a basket with some in I'm planning on doing cupcakes with glittery buttercream, shortbread stars, brownies, cookies (I'll be making those this week and freezing ready to bake closer to the time), a sponge cake iced with christmas decorations, truffles with various coatings and perhaps some basics chocolate melted and moulded (trays are £1 in poundland) and piping some white chocolate or something on the top for effect.

My mum will also get things like cocktail sausages, scotch eggs, a tub of cheese cubes (various cheeses I have already), chicken wings and drumsticks with various coatings, cheese and ham breadsticks, cheese ham and spring onion rolls, lots of snacky type foods that are easy to make and are things she wouldn't normally have. It's not a gift as such but rather things to make her Christmas just as nice when we aren't there.

I shall be making Baileys fudge as I do each year, but I am also making a hamper for relatives and I shall be including:

    Cherry, Almond and Cinnamon Granola

    Pistachio and Cranberry Cookies

    Christmas Biscotti

Shortbread Stars (<< using this recipe)

Chocolate Brownie Cookies - these are a favourite here anyway :)

    White Chocolate and Cranberry cookies

I've made everything except the fudge and the granola and the uncooked cookies are in the freezer ready to go in the oven when I'm ready. I'm not usually this organised, mind you, so I expect something to go very wrong!
Thank you pollyskettle, I made the chocolate brownie cookies yesterday & they are so yummy.
    Booo!!!

Hello, I am doing xmas hampers for both sets of parents this year.

    So far I have made;

    Caramalised Onion Chutney
    Spiced Mango Chutney
    Chilli Jam
    Apple Cheese
    Spiced Cranberry Chutney
    Strawberry Jam

Will be making Chocolate truffles, mince pies, peanut brittle, cheese straws.

pollyskettle - how long does the granola last for. I might make this and the biscotti to include in the hamper too.

I have bought wine and chocs, and will be adding crackers, cheese etc too.

I've done Christmas Chutney, toffee vodka, xmas pudding vodka, peach jam, apple jelly, peanut butter fudge and snowman soups. Still to do: so much! Some kind of glitter jam and thanks to very useful posts earlier in this thread I may use some to infuse vodka, biscotti, shortbread, a gingerbread house, more fudge, peppermint creams, mini stollens and probably more i've forgotten about. This week seems to be written off with Christmas plays and carol concerts too, better pull my finger out hadn't I?!
