Interesting - I hade a missed call from that mobile number last week. They didn't leave a message and I never phone back unrecognised numbers anyway.

Think Im Being Led Up The Garden Path I Made My Application In February And Had Confirmation Saying It Would Take 6-8 Weeks. Then Told Banks Were Taking Longer Than They Should To Hand Over Statements. In July Banksmart Sent Me Partial Statements For About 3 Years To Confirm And Sign To Proceed With The Claim But Since Then I Have Had 1 Automated Response Telling Of A Delay By Ruling Party. I Am Having No Joy Getting A Response Other Than Checking My Claim Status Which Hasnt Changed Since August. Does Anyone Have Any Success????????????

I'm guessing that Banksmart are a company who are doing your claim for you. Remember, these companies only sprouted in within the last year or so to take advantage of the guaranteed easy payout.
You have to remember, that these companies exist to make money. They will always give priority to bigger claims that bring them the most cash. Your claim will remain at the bottom of the pile as long as their are bigger, more profit making claims in their hands.
I have seen tons of complaints like this about these companies. Do yourself a favour, ditch them & do it yourself..

i just got cold called from a company saying they can get my bank charges back with in 6 weeks for a one off payment of £50 . are they legit?

Well here is my take on what I have seen from these companies. I have been helping people pick up the mess that companies like this have made for well over a year now..

I've merged your thread with the running one and you need to read the previous posts regarding using a company and certainly any company now saying they can have a result in 6 weeks for a mere £50 is talking nonsense.

Yet again this shows why there should be a sticky or something explaining how the rules and regs of claims management companies apply.

Cold calling in any form is not allowed and should be referred to the regulator

You should be given a 14 day cooling off period, regulatory requirement.

Personally, you should never pay anything up front.

The process works like this, you pay the 50 quid and either change your mind or get nowhere. Under the rules and regs companies are allowed to charge a small/reasonable fee for work undertaken (even if unsuccessful) so after a few weeks of nothing they write out and say sorry, no go, when they knew they had no chance from the start.

The problem with constantly deleting names is that these companies continue to prey upon the innocent who could have found the info on this site

Just to clarify, as the guy who owns the company like that, that posts something good on a forum like this, its because we are the cheapest in the country and topped a Guardian survey in 2005 for claims management companies. I cannot, nor would not, defend the practices of other companies
