Hi really need HELP!,
Not sure if i should be posting this hear or really how to use this site but i really need some advise.
My husband and i have been using the reclaims company Licit Legal to reclaim our bank charges. We have had very little contact with this company and like many others on this site have had to constantly phone and ask them about our claims. The story is so long but the sort of it is that we both contacted our banks to be told that we had been offered settlements. We could not get hold of Licit Legal as they had relocated without telling anyone. We did a little internet research on the company and got a little worried about the company. My husband decided to contacted his bank and excepted the offer. His bank paid him but mine would not pay out without contact from LL. Since then LL have contacted us to say that our banks had made offers and that we needed to sign two forms to accept the offers and get the money.Which we did. Later i received a letter to say that my bank was withdrawing all of it's offers a present. My husband has received a letter telling him to cough up the 25% + £50 admin charge for doing nothing? can they do this as we have had practialy no contact with them. We have signed something but we have never received a copy of it as they have previoulsy promised???0 -

Beware the Banking Rights Bureau.
Yesterday, I was cold-called by the BRB, a company regulated by the Ministry of Justice, and told that they would get my bank charges back in 6 to 12 days. I explained to the woman on the line that I had written my bank and the financial ombudsman and had been told that all bets were off until the OFT test case was resolved. She insisted I had been duped ("You fell for it," as she put it) and that the BRB would indeed get my bank charges back in 6 to 12 days. She would send me a bank charges pack in the mail with all the information. Okay, send it to me.
First, she needed my address (ok), the name of my bank (?), my name (she has my number but not my name?), and the expiry date of my Visa card (wait a second). I asked for her credentials again and she insisted the BRB was on the level and that it was regulated by the Ministry of Justice ("That's the government, sir," as she put it). She offered up a web site, which I went to in a flash while she was still on the line. The BRB is indeed regulated by the Ministry of Justice but it turns out that, in fact, this helpful lady was not at all offering me this bank charges pack, as it seemed: the site states it comes with a hefty £34.99 price tag. Not only that but the site itself refers to the OFT test case, fully contradicting her assurances of a full refund in 6 to 12 days.
So I informed the woman from the BRB I wouldn't be paying for this pack and immediately she hung up on me.
It seems the gap opened up by this OFT test case has opened up a new niche and the parasites are flooding in.
I have contacted the Ministry of Justice (the link is on the BRB site www.bankingrightsbureau.com) and await a call back. The BRB has also promised to call me back.
What should be done? Any ideas?

hi, can anybody recommend a solicitors or company that will help me reclaim bank charges- i'm had it up to here now, i really have. today their charges of £275 were the last straw.
i can't do it myself, because i'm on dodgy ground- i am now 1600 overdrawn with lloyds, a student, and my account is in debt collections. if i could get back my charges which i think probably amount to 3k, i could pay it off. I really dont mind paying the commision to a solicitor, because I think i need legal representation because i'm on dodgy ground with antagonising my bank.
Any advice would be good."What...? I was only saying...."0 -
Solicitors won't get the money any quicker than you will, as ALL cases are or will be stayed by the Courts until the test case later this month, only hardship cases will be looked at before then, and you can do it through the fos people who don't cost anything.
Hopefully the case goes ahead this month and the oft wins then we'll all be singing and dancing in the streets, until the banks come up with a new way to hump us senseless for our money, unless of course we all change our habits and ensure we dont go overdrawn ever ever again and avoid any charges at all, i know if I win the bank charges back and my ppi claims i'm using the money to clear my feet and hopefully will never fall foul of theset hings ever ever again.
Hope this helps! Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -

Have anyone here managed to claim their charges back through a company that doesn't take a high percentage of you claim when they have claimed your money back for you.
I'm one of the people who hasn't started claiming back yet & with the test case starting today, I would like to get with a company ASAP as I worked out HSBC owe me about £3000 over the last 6 years.
Thanks,
