  • Sounds very like a scam to me and other people have had these phone calls from presumably the same or similar company. By giving them your card details over the the phone you have given them carte blanche to take money from your account and you need to go back to the bank and make sure no further money is taken.

Sorry if this has been posted before, but got a phone call today from a company called Total Refund. They claimed that for an upfront fee of £49, they will reclaim all my charges plus interest.

When I asked her about the High Court ruling not out until the new year at least, they claimed that they could get my cheque out in 4-7 weeks, as the ruling doesn't affect them.

Anyone heard of these or dealt with these??

    Thanks.
Hi just had the same phone call and thay said the same to me,sound a bit doggy. I have been trying to claim back(£7000) my self sinc july 07 had no luck with the toy town bank my self, so ive now let the oft handle it for me.

Going to try and reclaim me ppi next.
  • hi

just joined this site after doing some digging around about ppls experiences with TOTAL REFUND.

i got my phone call from them today, and after reading the threads in this forum am feeling a bit of an idiot as i agreed to go ahead and let them deal with my claim against HSBC. now the thing is, the guy on the phone was very assured and gave me full details of the companies address, phone no. his own name, and full registration/trading details of the company and hours of business so it seemed pretty viable. i have these details written down and can post them here if that would be okay to do.

now im not very savvy when it comes to stuff like this, hence i have never had the confidence to go ahead and make a claim personally as i am very poor with my financial management and am always in/over my agreed lending arrangements.

where do i stand at the moment as regards total refund and my bank?

    thanks in advance :)
  • Complete spam from a company formed in February 2007 with a website still being written, hardly inspiring

    Will someone please remove this
  • hi everyone

like a muppet i went ahead with these lot for claiming back my charges against hsbc. i recieved my claim pack today which contains a cover letter, an instruction letter informing the bank of proceeding action and to request the details of charges for the last 6 years, a form for the FOS, and a help sheet for filling out the form.

basically, they're acting through the FOS and gaining £50 in the process. Going by what i have gleaned from this site, this isnt required until court action has been threatened to the bank and they have declined to take any action, is that right?

am i wasting my time with total refund and do i have a right to get my money back?

by the way, their help sheet for filling in the FOS form is almost word for word the same as the one on this site!
  • I just received a phone call on my mobile, its a contract in my partners name so seemed rather odd how they found the number.

The women said she was from some sort of bureau asking if we had our bank charges back, when i said no she said she will send out the correct information and package which we fill out and send to our bank BUT there's a charge of £39.99 because it contains legal documents inside.

The phone numbers she used is a very local number 0208 After searching the phone number it came up with this.. ... Oftel records show that numbers starting 020 8620 are allocated to TELSTRA EUROPE LIMITED

I just said it isn't my bank account and i'm not willing to give any details out without confirming it from my partner. She wants my partner to ring back tomorrow. Does this seem like a scam?

  • ALREADY HAVE CASE FOR RECLAIMING BANK CHARGES ON HOLD, BUT THIS WEEK HAVE HADPHONE CALLS ROM BANKING RIGHTS BUREAU. THEY ARE TELLING ME I WOULD GET BACK ALL CHARGES AND 8% THEN REQUESTED BANK DETAILS. I DID NOT GIVE THEM ANY DETAILS HAS ANYONE ELSE HEARD FROM THEM. WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW. THEY HAVE SAID WILL SEND PAPERWORK. DOES YOU KNOW ARE THEY A legitimate COMPANY.
  • Had a call from a company yesterday offering me the ability to claim back all my bank charges - - all I had to do was pay them £39.50  for the priviledge of their 'fully-legal' template letters. Naturally mentioned that a certain MSE site does said tempaltes for free -- which didn't go down too well with the operative on the end of my phone.
Didn't get the company's name but their number 01253755780 was recalled by my mobile.
Just wondering if anyone else has been approached this way.
