If they say anything about you not being able to cancel ask them who are they regulated by and are they solicitors if they say that they are not solicitors then ask them how can they reclaim moneyas they are not allowed to bring proceedings in court. I think you will find that they are just going through the ombudsman
As I am not the Pope or legally qualified I may be wrong so feel free to get a second opinion from a qualified person

Sharron, if you have given this company authority to deal with the bank on your behalf, make sure you cancel this with your bank as well.

I aso had a payment of £750 in May. But have still gone ahead with court proceedings. We are due in court next Tuesday, so far have been told it will not be stayed due to the recent news. But its up to you if you proceed. Good luck

Sam first of all, once the £750 is paid into your account it will not be taken back, it is yours to spend regardless of claiming for the full amount, your legal team should have replied with an acceptance in part and without prejudice, this then enables you to keep your money and claim for the rest, however if you are overdrawn I would leave the money there if not then its yours..Sorry to be blunt but I think you have hired a bunch of W****rs

  • i can comforfirm that despite your specific written instructions to lloyds tsb plc that payment should be directed through licit legal, they have made the cheque for £750.oo payable to you and sent it to you directly.this payment is a partial payment so,please be assured that we are continuing to pursue the bank for the outstanding amount of your claim.i would be grateful if you could let us have your payment for £220.31p being the success fee of 25%including vat on the amount referred to in your account
