Don't use any of them. Nothing they do you couldn't do quicker AND cheaper yourself. All the info and advice you need can be gained here for free. The point is to get your bank charges back - the point is NOT to give some of it immediately away again! They are not better, they don't achieve better results, they don't achieve anything quicker, in fact, they can be more of a hindrance in your dealings with the bank than anything else.If you can't face filing a court claim and all that comes with it, then by all means go to the Financial Ombudsman with your claim, they do it for free.

I have also signed an agreement with Licit Legal, but have since been reading all these threads...
How did anyone get on when cancelling this agreement?
Did they charge the £500 settlement fee, and is it even possible to do so?
I took the advise of a friend to use these people, then found out they had no background info on them... My fault I know :(
Problem is they've already calculated the figure based on my two accounts statements now, which totals to around £4000.
Can anyone offer me any help?
    Many thanks!

My first impression, (could be wrong), is that you are going to be asked to pay for information that is freely available here.

I'm using the Company that only takes the interest 'RH' and to be frank it's an absolute joke.

I sent off my terms of instruction some 9 Months ago and it's been 7 months since my Reclaim officially begun {my first and only contact via E-mail}. I've spoken with an operator recently now they have sorted out their Phone service but I'm still none the wiser to my claim total.

I originally used this company because my partner and I are expecting a child and I didn't need the added stress, but I'm on the verge of cancelling my agreement with them and completing the process myself.

I recently recieved an offer from Barclays for £2305 which I estimate is about 40% of my total charges and I was tempted simply because of my lack of faith in the claims company.

I understand Barclays like many firms play hardball but the RH Website claims at least suggest they are financially astute and should have forseen many of the problems they are encountering.

My advice, do it yourself, it will add years to live.
  • Hi

Started trying to reclaim from my bank's, Cahoot and HSBC, but realised it's a big task. I don't want to miss out by getting the figures wrong. All that effort will be in vain.

Can anyone recommend a good commercial or preferably non-commercial agent who can do this for you?

    Thx

    Paul

It's really not a big task at all! I've done it for my friend - she got her money back after the first letter and i'm in the process of doing it for myself and my mother in law.

Have a look at step by step guide and go for it - surely the money the bank have taken from you should go back to the person who is owed it - you and not someone taking money off people who think it's a hard job cause it really isn't :)
