has anyone else had this problem?
i am trying to reclaim my bank charges and have asked for 6 years of my statements I have now received these and hsbc have sent me a letter with them which says that unfortunately they are unable to forward statements to bank smart as they contain information other than details of penalty charges!!what do i do now??0 -
They are correct. They can only legally send them to you (which you say they have done). You can then send them to anyone you want to.The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0

Hi Justlaugh
Yes I saw them when you posted as I watch this thread - I was giving the said company time to do some work but it seems like no joy and maybe even they have stopped trading even though they are one the bigger companies.
I will give it a few days just in case they are just having telecom probs and post when I find out any more info.
If no answers I will follow your route and do it myself - but If I cant contact them It could be more difficult.Aint got a signature - as I cant think of anything world wisely to say.0 -

If/ when you send a letter to the company as always send it signed for delivery. I think the bank, as you are the customer have to take your instuctions. When i spoke to my bank to make sure they received the letter i was told that the banks much prefer to deal with the customer and regard these companys as vultures.
good luck with your claim.

 hi is anyone using a claims company? i sent of paper work in the begining of febuary coop and halifax and my brothers nationwide, the only time we have had any comunication from them is when we keep emailing them, last time they said that they still havnt recieved any statements and they are chasing this up this sounds strange as there are 3 different banks? the last time they said that it would take 2-3 weeks this was on the 30th of april.can we back out of this? they will take 15% of the total amount.and i have since started claims on my own, thanks to your web site and i would rather not keep waiting when i could of completed this on my own and saved 15%,i think they have a back log of customers, its says on there web site it can take at least 14wks whilst going to court but we still dont even know how much banks owe us after 15wks this aint on .can someone please help thanks0

If you hang on I'll shift your post into the thread discussing the lack of communication and problems dealing with such companies and I'm sure that in fact someone said this week that the Halifax refused to give the statements to a company.0

is anyone else using a company called banksmart to reclaim their charges and are you having problems, is it taking months, and not keeping you informed, we were not told to send statements to our local branch so we sent them to the address on the letter we had from them so we have now had an e-mail wanting our bank statement.0

Having been through the same grief with one of these companies, I'm starting to wonder if they are actually in the employ of the banks! It would make an awful lot of financial sense for the banks to offer sweetners to companies, that didn't answer or return calls, lost paperwork, failed to complete the AQ (as was my case).
Probably not the case, but if it makes one or two people reading this question the logic of using ambulance chasers to do the job, then it's a point worth making.0 -
Hya all,
Not sure if this is where to post this thread as I seem to be getting it wrong all the time I try to post.
I am in the third/fourth stage of claiming from NATWEST ie, I am about to put in claim to online court. HOwever, I am beginning to have doubts in how I have calculated the charges and the interest and feel it may be better to get one of those companies to complete the claim for me.
Has anyone used any of those companies out there? Most of the companies seem to be charging 25% plus VAT. Any suggestions?
cheers:mad:
