Anyone had experience of a company/solicitor doing the work of reclaiming? (merged)

You need to check your contract with the company to see if you can cancel and if they will still charge you. Have a read of the letters that justlaugh2 has sent the company he used and also the letter he sent the bank to cancel any agreement the bank had to reply to this company.0

I don't have a contract. Everything the company i'm using sent me I sent back. Is it worth asking them if I can pull out?0

oh my gosh....you people lol...I thought I had the willy nillys about it all...Like Martin said on Radio One to day...if you havent already heard his comments go to..https://www.bbc.o.uk/radio1 and listen again to Jo whiley approximately 12.15 onwards...I wouldnt bother with these no win no fee people..as Martin says..its not like a court of law with all wigged men in cloaks scaring the life out of you, its a simple form at moneyclaim to fill in, as long as you follow the template to the T to the bank making yourself unliable for charges, you have nothing to lose and only a court fee to pay..

Dont word any correspondence as a request to pull out for now, simply ask for a copy of whatever arrangement is supposed to be between you. If they have nothing in writing signed by you then it is my assumption that the arrangement/contract is not enforceable in a court and you can simply walk away without repercussions.
Of course, you have given these people your account details and will need to instruct the bank that they are not authorised to access your account or correspond with regard to it.0 -
If the company didnt send you a copy of the agreement then just try sending the letters above. If they havent even received your statements yet it may be worthwhile sending your own DPA request see if the bank will send them to you.
When i spoke to my bank (to make sure they only deal with me) they told me that these companys cannot get it any quicker or a better offer than you can get yourself and even the bank consider these companies to be vultures.
You should try the letters, at worst they can insist that you still pay them their share, Or at best they will let you off the hook.
Its up to you, but when i realised that my bank charges were nearly £5000 i decided there was no way i was willing to pay them £1250 for doing what i am capable of doing myself!
Good Luck

On second thoughts twinkys idea is a better one! Find out what they have first. Very odd though that you didnt get a copy to keep. Maybe just send a letter to the bank to make sure they only deal with you.0 -
Today, I was called by a gentleman asking me if I had bank charges amounting to £1000 in the last year that he would be able to help me reclaim them. Now sales people call all the time but in this particular instance I am disgusted that now not only do banks charge unfairly but now there are people trying to make a buck out of something that has come from someone who genuinely wants only to save people money and stop greedy companies making money from them.
I do not know if this is the right place to post it or if anyone is interested in my views, I just had to say it.What goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots0 -
I have read on the phone boards about such cold callers too. If anyone gets the name of a company I'd be interested in a pm to say who it is0
