To be honest, nothing these companies do you couldn't do yourself, and cheaper AND quicker. Read your contract with them what it says about cancelling them if you are unhappy with their services.Reclaimed thanks to this site:
£175 Abbey Mortgage Repayment Fee, £170.03 Capital One Bank Charges £418.07 Lloyds TSB Bank Charges, £2,671.55 Mis-sold Endowment Policy, all for OH0 -
i am using *********, it has been over 40 days now and dont seem to be giving me a proper update, all i get is an automated message,,has anyone else dealt with this company and roughly how long does it take for the alliance and leicester to pay out,,i am getting fed up of waiting now0

I have just had a phone call, (actually a recorded message which starts playing as you pick up the phone)
A person called Simon Hubbard said he had some good news for you if you phoned this number :
08000517733 (which I didn't do)
I googled for it and apparently it is someone telling you how to reclaim your bank charges, whether they are making money from it or just getting your bank details, I have no idea, can anyone enlighten me on this ?0 -
I had that same phone call yesterday; didn’t even listen long enough to get the number. Once I had realised it was a recorded message and the chap kept on talking regardless, I hung up.
Just forget it.0 -

I started off by using a company and got fed up waiting for them to contact me, and when i phoned them they treated me like i was impatient and stupid.
I had signed a contract with them so was worried about how much I would have to pay them if i cancelled my agreement with them. In posts 125 and 126 in this thread i have posted the letters that i sent to the company and bank.
I received a reply from this company stating that they are still entitled to 25% or £500 whichever is greater, but they would be willing to accept £350!! I have chosen to ignore this for now and see if they chase me for it.

This number phoned, I picked it up and it was automated, but made to sound like someone had actually left a msg. It said that there was some import news for me and to call 0800 0517733. If I needed the number I should listen to msg on bt's 1471 service!
I am pretty certain that this a scam, but since it's a freephone number, does that not mean that this number is registered? Is there no Quality Control. when these numbers are arrange. Or checks?
Hopefully the more people who add threds the more people will be aware!
P.S TPS does not work they still phone regardless?0 -
I rang the company that is supposed to be dealing with my claim the other day and she said they would email me with details of how far the claim is going - today I rang as I didnt get the email and all the phone lines are now not working (4 differrent numbers).
Edinburgh lass keeps deleting any mention of companies so I cant disclose the name of the company it seems but how do I get to discuss with other people who may be using the same claim Co as me.
If they have started the claim it will now be almost impossible for me to take it on as the bank will surely use this as an excuse saying they cant contact the company for dis-instruction verification ect.
The company I used was one that Martin mentioned a while back in one of his mail shots and was supposed to be accredited.Aint got a signature - as I cant think of anything world wisely to say.0 -

Hi tunesurfer,
I started off with a company, which didnt seem to get anywhere, I sent the company and bank letters stating that i am cancelling the agreement with them and that all correspondance should now come direct to me. ( have posted letters on this thread a few pages back!).
But be careful, as if you signed a contract you may still be liable to pay them a percentage of your future refunds.
I am more than happy now that i am doing this myself, and have just requested judgement by default against lloyds.
Have a read of the letters i wrote to bank/company
