Just wondering if anyone could advise me on which antivirus software to get/download? I have had so many issues with each and am now not sure which to use!
Avast! made my computer run really slowly and gave me so many popups regarding buying thins, every day as soon as I clikced to use the internet, this added about 5 mins to me using the computer every day. Very irritating and I uninstalled this.
Agv: seemed to stop my adobe flash from working, I tried to repair, then tried to install...each time it would tell me I had done so, but then when I needed to use it, it didn't work/told me I needed to reinstall. I am sure it was AGV as when I uninstalled it, hey presto, adobe flash worked no problems!
Onecare was great as it worked smoothly with my computer software already on the computer (Vista) but not sure if it was the best value: I have heard mixed reviews- I am also not rich enough to pay that price!
Norton trial version was great, but did make things on my computer run slowly. I have heard the 2009 version doesn't do the same: is that ture? as I have seen it advertised for £30 and I could afford that- but only if its actually worth it!
McAlfee was slow too
I have also tried the tial version with talktalk and OMG this was the worst ever! every other page I would get the "internet explorer cannot display..." page up! Refreshing made no difference. I couldn't go back and would need to get up another page. Its been a week and I have uninstalled it now. Everything works as it should since uninstalling so I am sure thats what it was.
If anyone has any advice- and experience with thier virus protection, I would be really grateful as I need to do something about the security issue kinda soon! and am not sure what to try next that wont cause me so many issues!
Thankyou in advance to anyone who has any advice/offers any suggestions!0 -
For a home user I would go with Avira .
It has the best detection rates at present.
If you choose the free version remember to install a good Anti -spyware program.

I am running Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 and it seems OK only got it because it was on special offer on Amazon. Before that I was running a trial on Norton Internet Security 2009 and that was good.0

I use Kaspersky Internet Security (7.0.0.124) I find it pretty good although at first I was always getting pop ups saying allow, deny or add to trusted sites, which confused me as I was wondering if my computer was being harmed by legit programs.Like good food and drink?
Try Hotel Chocolat and Baileys.

Are you talking about Adobe Flash player or Adobe Reader because Adobe Flash Player is currently at version 10 not 9."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

It was the latesr version, every time I tried to acess bbci player, it directed me to download the adobe flash player. I tried, SOOO many times! I downloaded everything I could see on the site to see if it would work after I had bee attempting to download the adobe flash player- as I was getting nowhere fast.
In the end after a mindblowing week of attempts- I even posted on here for help! I uninstalled the AVG and everything was totally fine after that!
It was the latest version as virtualy every survey site, or oage, or whatever, took me straight to the download adobe button.0
