Superantispyware is prety good, but I've gone over to Spyware Doctor for a while now..it's really good, has a real-time element, and tends to pick up stuff a lot of others don't. I think I posted my security suite somewhere on the techie threads recently, but for the record.....
1. hardware firewall in router
2. winXP and vista firewalls (on different comps, obviously)
3. avast antivirus (includes e-mail scanner)
4. spyware doctor
5. MBAM
6. Spybot S&D (for the Immunise and startup tools rather than the scanner)
7. CCleaner
All in all, it seems to be doing the biz, even after the kids play their online RPGs on MY pc......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
Just one question, 'What is the maximum security software you can use at any one time without each one conflicting each other?'Like good food and drink?
Try Hotel Chocolat and Baileys.

I use:
Avast - they are FREE (for home users), update by themselves and you just have to update the license key every 14 months by just entering your email.
Spybot
Ad-Aware - removes ads and cleans out the extra ads that sometimes might not be cleaned by the big names, the bad thing is you have to run the program yourself each time you want to check for ads in your computer and update.
Pop-up stopper professional - by paniware, always good at stopping most pop ups even for some they are not ads
And windows defender0 -
weegie...general rules are:-
1.only one software firewall
2. only one antivirus
3. a few antispyware progs, but only one running in realtime
That should keep any conflicts to a minimum..........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

FIREWALL requests should be YES or NO and ***REMEMBER***
DEFENSE should be WINDOWS APP (For most), TRUSTED (For whatever programs you truly trust, eg anti virus) or UPDATE/INSTALL (eg, anti virus update, installing a program) and ***REMEMBER***
When installing programs I actually suggest turning defense OFF, then once its installed switch back to SAFE mode:idea:0 -
Yeah at the start its a pain but its learning what you want to block and what you want to let trough basically. But after a few days maybe a week its fine and its a really good firewall IMO.'HAIL HAIL' :dance:0

Start your own thread. This thread isn't really relevant, it's for security application usage. Also give what email client you use. The exact settings will be dependant on the application you use."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
