Secunia should find any leftover vulnerable Reader 9 components if there are any. It's sometimes an incomplete removal which causes SecurityCheck to still see it as being installed.

Hi thanks for advice, ran secunia found another problem now fixed. Would you reccommend saving this software fo extra checks in addition to existing security.
Also it looks like I have got rid of old Adobe 9 as found its dictionary still in add/remove.

On access scanning disabled is this ok/safe. Thanks

No, just re-download as and when you need to. It's updated as the programs it checks are updated.

Security center should alert you if the on-access scanning (also known as real-time protection) is disabled.

Check that the MSE tray Icon is green. If it is, it's enabled.

(For the setting, open MSE, go to settings > Real-time protection. The checkbox should be ticked)

I use Microsoft Security Essentials as AV and Windows built in Firewall.
I also use Firefox with advert blocker and NoScript

Sometimes I also run Malware Bytes, anti-malware software.

Apart from that im just careful what sites I go on and what I download. Also I try to keep everything up to date.
