It 'should' work by simply installing. But id recommend uninstalling 2009 first

Whatever machines your installing onto make sure theyre free of whatever anti virus program they have now (using mcafees removal tool for example)

    Hi

I'm using Avast 5 and Comodo firewall.
Sealed Pot Challenge No 089-Finally got a signature.:rotfl::j

  • Hey, as a Computer Scientist/Software Engineer I'd like to think my system is pretty locked down using a:

    - Cisco ASA 5505 (Dedicated Hardware Firewall)

    - AVG Free

    - A whole array of Spyware/adware/malware programs that are auto executed now as part of my shut down routine (providing it's within a certain time range, so it only effectively executes at night while I'm sleeping)

    - Opera 11 - Setup to disable/block and reject everything appropriate

    - Common Sense

Kaspersky Internet security 2011 for my AV and I'm just using Windows firewall and a hardware firewall (my router). Heard very good things about Microsoft Security Essentials 2.0 and something makes me think that I'd rather have an AV by a company that doesn't have a vested interest in the existence of viruses, but Kaspersky's detection rates are still good enough for me to stick with them. Not the best anymore, but they're still up there.

  • AVG free, PCTools Firewall, Malwarebytes Free, Spybot S&D & Lavasoft Ad Aware (though these two not so much these days, I only run them if I suspect a problem and nothing else has found one)

Very rarely get a virus or other malware these days, last one I had was around 7 months ago :)

I am faced with a similar dilemma i have used Kaspersky for 5 years or more, but not sure whether to ditch it for M.S.E. 2.0
or just renew Kasp. I use lavasoft free as well. thanks

MSE 2.0 has a lowered detection rate and is a system hog. It also slows ping times to the pc it is running on. Wouldn't use that or AVG.

avira or avast free editions are far better.
