Yeah well I'd trialled NOD32 first then bought that and then when Smart Security came out, tried that and then upgraded to it. So although it's highly recommended I'd given a thorough try first before committing. Which I think anyone should do with any software to make sure it does do what you want and you can live with it, and there aren't any unusual conflicts with your particular system etc."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I'm currently using nothing other than iptables, which I suppose leads any who've seen it before to the conclusion that I'm using linux. I've got Ubuntu 9.04 and XP Pro currently on my now aging Dell Latitude D520, about two and a half years old now. Use XP at school when I need to connect to a protected Windows share and MS Exchange 2007, as well as use the rest of Office 2007. At home, I use Ubuntu as it runs faster and, in my opinion, works better. No issues with various programs trying to do the same job, eg wireless management, I think Gnome has the whole networking thing sorted, especially with the introduction of Mobile Broadband support, although I don't use it myself.
I've gone off topic now, haven't I?Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.0 -

Well, not by our standards anyway. I just prefer Ubuntu. Much easier to set up LAMP components on it (one terminal command) than XAMPP on windows, on linux, apache's root is /var/www, whereas in windows, it's impossible to find.
The tabbed file browser in Ubuntu's a nice touch as well, I wonder when Microsoft will think of that?Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.0 -

As we all know in this fast moving market better solutions come along, I used webroot products for 2 years but they have gone down hill abit. Eset seems to be one of the best at the moment but next year maybe someone else will be? This is the resen why I won't sign up for that amount of time.0 -
I use McAfee and Deefreeze to fully protect my files and my system.0

Since I updated my AVG to 8.5 I find it much slower in scanning but it finds tracking cookes that my various spyware programs don't, so I'm rather happy anyway. I do wish it were a bit quicker though - it's scanning right now and it's been going for 1 hour and 13 minutes.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0

Dont go thinking that because its found something that they matter
ADAWARE in particular seems to be 'scaremongering' people into using it by deleting things it really has no need to (ie ~ someone uses it and feels its NEEDED because it found something nothing else did):idea:0
