well thats the one i need yes. But either way ~ id still suggest the SAS scan to check for anymore MYWEBSEARCH items (It sometimes finds some that malwarebytes missed)
but this is what i was looking for in malwarebytes right at the top ~
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.36
Database version: 2074
Windows 6.0.6001 Service Pack 1:idea:0 -
Taken the info off now you have had a look at it ok.0
-
Looks like its all MYWEBSEARCH so nothing to majorly worry about
Its possible you were infected through using/viewing an avatar ~
C:\Documents and Settings\Lynda McCard\Application Data\FunWebProducts\Data\Lynda McCard\avatar.dat:idea:0 -
Best do a hijack log too ~
reboot
Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/
Click DO A SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE (Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log):idea:0 -
What do you mean viewing Avatar?
Also, ok to the above.
By the way, have you any idea how long this next one will take as I have to go to my sisters to do some proof reading for her?0 -
Well my 'dwayne dibley' pic' is an avatar. You could have gone onto ANY dodgy webpage with one on to be honest. And it might not be the cause anyways so I wouldnt dwell on it:idea:0

aliEnRIK do you think it is a waste of time or not, using "Noscript" in FireFox on an Ubuntu derivative box? I have seen conflicting opinions and wondered if you have any input. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

You could still be redirected to a bogus webpage which means WITHOUT it you could still be 'phished' if your not on the ball
Im pretty sure there is the odd linux virus knocking about on the net too (VERY unlikely to catch one mind):idea:0 -
