Dave ~ If zonealarm works fine then I wouldnt worry about it.
Use the 32 bit AVG removal tool though (Simply uninstalling wont do)

Cheers for that aliEnRIK0 -
If the NETS slow at loading up though that COULD be zonealarm. Is the net ok? Or does it take quite a while for pages to appear?:idea:0

I've just taken my PC back to it's factory settings after a couple of minor problems.
I am looking at the following AV & firewalls
AV-Avira or Avast
Firewall-Comodo
Spyware-superantispyware.
Can anyone give my any pros and con on both the AV.
Also is there anything else i should think about running.0 -
Avira has the better defintion files but does nt scan emails which avast does (But you can put the attachments on your desktop and scan them from there anyways)
Comodos pretty good
SAS is good but id use MALWAREBYTES as the main scanner personally
Id recommend running FIREFOX with the NOSCRIPT plugin to prevent 'drive by' trojans and redirects when using the net:idea:0 -

I've downloaded updated and run.
Avira
Comodo
Malwarebytes
Superantispyware.
In the past I've also these installed
A-Squared
Glary Utilities
CCleaner
Are the worth having or are they just overkill.
I'm also looking for a reliable Norton 360 removal tool.0 -
Id say theyre all worth having (Though make sure a-squared is ONLY set as an 'on demand' scanner (Not scanning in real time))
Use the Norton removal tool

The Comodo Firewall and Antivirus is quite good and it is still free.
It may take a little while to get used to it, especially when installing applications, I have been using it now for a few months and am quite happy with it.
My system runs quicker now than it did when I was running BitDefender IS.

I've been using Spybot160 for some time now and have noticed that I've been getting quite a lot of spam starting a few months ago.
Spybot updates seem to be generated from sites all over the world and once when I updated from a German source I got a load of spam in German. A couple of days ago I got rid of Spybot, and, lo and behold no spam at all. Has anybody had a similar problem?0
