I can't seem to get spybot to work on my new laptop. It works fine on my desktop. It just keeps saying I'm not an administrator and therefore cannot remove any problems it finds. It says it will run when windows next starts but it doesn't happen.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

That's Vista's UAC for you, used to annoy the heck out of me everytime I ran spybot and ccleaner.
If you right-click the spybot icon on desktop (or quicklaunch if u have it there) and "run as administrator" it should run as normal. But you'll need to do it every time you use spybot.0 -
First thing I did when I got my new dell ~ switch the fu**ing UAC off........:idea:0

Sorry to ask but what does UAC stand for and how do you turn it off?

If you want to run a security check regularly, just add it to the Task Scheduler, and make sure you tick the checkbox to allow that programme to run with administrator privileges while adding it. Then make sure to close the Scheduler.;)Jumbo

Many routers have a built in Firewall. At home I use a Netgear firewall/router. At work I use a draytek. At home behind that I use Kaspersky and at work use Sophos. I am a fan of these two products. Not a fan of Norton at all!0
