  • I always find firewalls a subjective issue, I have a firewall on my router, windows firewall and check against shields up, I have in the past on my old machine had more problems with firewalls than anything else....ZoneAlarm used to be good and then bloated out. When I changed to Vista, curbed my experimental ways, if I go for an all in one will use their firewall, if I stay on the free route, I will leave as is.
You can't rely on a lottery win to pay off your debts....or a long lost aunt come to that;)

These are OK, I use similar. Don't forget that Vista has it's own firewall (Windows Defender) so if you download another one , switch Defender off).
Personally I am happy with Windows Defender. I like Avast, it updates regularly and is unobtrusive. Spybot is well proven and Malwarebytes has many fans.

Windows defender is NOT the windows firewall. Theyre 2 entirely different programs..........

My mistake ! Windows Defender is the inbuilt anti-virus, but you should disable the Windows Firewall (in the Control Panel) if downlaoding an alternative firewall, as they sometimes work against each other and slow down your computer.

Why do you continue to post in a thread about security when you clearly know very little about the subject! Other less knowledgeable peeps may actually believe the crap that you post, if others like RIK don't take the trouble to post.
