Ah, but if you get a virus intended for a windows computer, no it wont effect you but if it some how gets transferred to a Windows pc then your actually helping to spread the virus.
I used McAfee security suit up till now, paid £15 for it this time last year from Argos... It now wants £50 to renew it  Pah!!
I use Comodo Internet security now, which is free and does the same job. plus I'm very happy with it's features. AVG and Avast don't quite cut it for me0 -
After a two year break from Norton, I have now gone back to using Norton. What a difference from the last time, I also use Windows Defender and Spybot Search and Destroy.:DLike good food and drink?
Try Hotel Chocolat and Baileys.

Yes, Norton got a very good review in PC Answers magazine, although I may go to Kaspersky or F-Secure next time.My suggestion and/or advice is my own and it is up to you if you follow it, please check the advice given before acting on it.0

For a paid Anti-Virus software, I would put Kaspersky at the top. As for free Anti-Virus, I use Avira AntiVir; but it is one's personal choice.
For a firewall, I use Comodo (free version). Does an excellent job and updates regularly.
For spyware protection, Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is more than sufficient, and the others like Ad-Aware and Spybot are not what they used to be.
Really and truly, a safe computer user doesn't need every single protection out there. Being a malware fighter, I believe the above to be adequate.0 -

Spybots 'IMMUNISE' feature is actually very useful:idea:0 -
You're right! The Immunize function is a good feature. There is also HostsXpert, which blocks thousands of harmful websites. However, it has a many features and should not be taken lightly.

before i switched to a Mac, i used F-Secure, which in my personal experience of using many internet security suites it was the best and had the lowest impact on the computer - i actually managed to get it free for a year by using the trial copies!!!!!:beer:In My 'Permanant' Pre-Masters Gap Year
