Evening,
Thankyou so much for all your good luck wishes - I'm pleased to say I had a great first day - I really enjoyed it, despite spending the whole day doing what they considered a ''boring" job - PAT testing, which involved taking apart loads of cabling, so now my hands are very sore and blistered. Never mind
I'm pretty tired now, but am loath to waste this evening, so I think I'm going to do a few Ebay listings. Made loads of enchiladas last night, so guess what's for tea tonight! We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Evening everyone :hello:
Happy birthday N9eav!
I've had a day of work in yet another nice school! It's so nice to find some decent ones with decent senior management as it's restoring my faith in teaching a little. I'm hoping that I may get asked back there..... When I turned up this morning, I heard someone say, "Hello, Vicky!" It was a teacher that I'd worked with for half a term, well over a year ago. She was dropping her daughter off, but on her way to her school to work. She's going to put in a good word for me. Who knows, they might want me back?
As soon as I got back from there, I dashed straight to the hair dressers. I never know what I want doing, so the poor bloke suggests somethings, I give in and come out looking quite glamourous!
I've got a leek stew in the oven at the mo. It's from the Anthony Worrall Thompson GL Diet cook book and I've never tried it before. However, it looked quite easy. If it's not nice, then we'll be popping down to the fish and chip shop.
Loads to do, but I just don't know where to start! I've got a day of work tomorrow as well, so no doubt I'll just procrastinate until then

it's been a long week this week thank goodness we are near then end of it.
I have a funeral to go to tomorrow but I have no idea what to wear
should I go in black
or is it better to go a little brighter
bearing in mind it's a funeral for a young girl in her early twenties that had a tragic accident, ideas would be appreciated
Not hungry tonight so I cooked a chicken and we can pick at it later on.
Lost over a stone now:T :T :T
I need a cuppa............anyone want one??
Usually the family will give an indication as to whether colours are acceptable to wear for the funeral. I've known people turn up at funerals in clours and the family be offended and other families request no black. Is there someone close, but not too close, to the family you could call tonight and find out the protocol. Personally I prefer to wear full black for funerals. Whatever you wear I hope all goes well tomorrow.HTHLife's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0 -

HAPPY BIRTHDAY N9eav
Hi all. Not an enjoyable day in work today, it's funny how the shift can depend on which staff you are working with.
Ds1 and I and OH have had a chat and hopefully normal service will be resumed - until the next time!
Oh had a phonecall from the cardiac nurse today who wants to come up and see him before he returns to work, whenever that may be. She will be up on Weds afternoon but she was telling him that he has had a heart attack and he disagreed with her saying that the 'top man' had told him otherwise. So she is going to look in to it and will tell all on Weds. I am glad really as I have a list of questions for her.
Left over chicken and salad for tea today as we have been to Lidl who are selling all their fruit and veg at half price and so have stocked up for another week. I also bought a large frozen turkey for £5.39, I should get 4 or 5 meals out of that starting with a roast dinner on Sunday.
Anyway off to sort out the uniforms and book the Tesco shop.
I hope everyone has a good night. Smoky. xxxxxxIf you are patient in one moment of anger, you will escape 100 days of sorrow.......Chinese proverb

Having real problems with 5yo DD tonight. Since she started school she has changed from a loveable and kind child to an opinionated bossy liittle madam. She is behaving like a spoiled brat and I seem to spend all my time telling her off. She staretd the day crying because she didn't wanrt to wear a pinafore and has ended it crying because she didn't want to go to bed. She loves school but I think she is playing with much older kids and it is really changing her. Her twin is fine. Sorry folks just fed up being a shouty mummy. They are off to Grandmas tommorrow and I know I'm going to feel guilty that we've been arguing all week.0

Completely. The other one is usually more trouble but atm she's very laid back. I have tried stickers, reward charts, time out, serious chats, rewarding positive behavour.... but I am competing with peer pressure methinks. The girls don't really play together at school though they are close. The one whose playing up is very popular and I think it's all gong to her head. I just didn't expect all this stuff to start at 5! :rolleyes:0
