Afternoon everyone.
Hope we are all good.

Not got a lot of os`ing done today, but did manage to bake with dd earlier, we made biscuits and sugar puff chocolate slab from lunch boxes tommorow.

Council came and checked the fire and smoke alarms, i knew the workman who came went to his 40th last year as i know his wife from school.Certainly told me some school gossip i didnt know ref new headteacher as ours is leaving at easter!!!!LOL:D

Tea is going to be Donnas version of McDonalds!!:T Double cheeseburgers with hm chips and a garlic dip. Followed by some of the slightly burnt biscuits:rolleyes: me and dd made with custard!!!

Dh wont be home till around 6 due to new hours, and the kids are moaning that they have to wait for tea, so may do theirs before he gets home!!:p

Plans for tonight, bath and a cuddle on settee with dh, dont seems to have spent much quality time together lately, we are both always so busy or tired.
So hoping to get kids to bed at a resonable time and watch tv together.Instead of me on pc and him reading.

May pop in later, if not have a great night all.

• mikey and moggins I agree with you. The media tend to focus on the worst of society and would have us believe, for example, that all young people are hoodie-wearing, foul-mouthed thugs who take pride in their ASBOs, etc. I know that this is not the case. It is rare to see two or three "good" stories on or in the news these days. Surely the world would be a better place if the good that was happening around the world also made the headlines regularly?

In saying that, the story of the Russian orphans wasn't headline news either. It was tucked away under stories that were less important imho.

Have had a quick fly through todays posts (shouldn't be near the computer should be putting veg on............)
Interested by the SAHM comments, I work 8 hours term time only, this is the least amount of hours I have ever worked (FT after DS1 for a while) and I believe being at home is harder than work. I too have had comments of 'what do you do' etc- I respond with 'oh daytime tv is fabulous you know :rotfl: '
But worse are the 'I think if you have children you should be at home for them' comments...usually from people with no children....so as someone has said damned if you don't - damned if you do!!!.
Its great to have a balance - if I had more help (mum lives away MIL still works) I'd do more hours but I won't do extra to then give to the childminder.
Us mothers have the roughest ride ........
!!!!!! day at work. Got assaulted by a daycare service user ....not seriously just gave me a shock...she obviously didn't want me to work Thursdays!!!! Found a note in the diary saying Claire to attend a meeting in half term.....I don't work school hols....trouble is my boss doesn't let her kids get in the way of meetings leaves her 12 yr old in charge of 2 others if necessary but that is out of the question obviously!!!!....will need to have words next week.
wasn't all bad treated myself to tea and scone out at lunchtime - first time this year.....so not OS at all but I earned it!!!
I'm driving up north to my mums tomorrow after school and had a wobble about my tyres which are borderline dodgy!!! So booked it in to be done first thing tomorrow - better to put extra on cc than get into trouble on the A17!
anniebooklover - sometimes school run sharing is a royal pain in the @ss isn't it.....I did it once but realised I was doing 7 or 8 out of the 10 trips:mad:
csarina - you are having a good ebay month - you'll have to let me into your secret. ;)
penny pincher - sorry you didn't get good news (((hugs)))
Tonight is ironing - watching pay off your mortgage and ER  Dr Kovac ain't no george Clooney but as eye candy goes he'll do :rotfl: :rotfl:
Have a good evening everyone,
Claire x

Hello everyone *bestows hugs alround, and to anniestar's poorly kitties*

am just having a quiet panic-have to give a 2 hour lecture at 3pm to a bunch of students. I don't do much lecturing so am a bit nervous. I know i'll be fine when i start, it's the waiting that stresses me out! eeek. Ah well, i'll just keep telling myself i know more about the subject than them (I hope :D). Erk

oooh-Last Harry Potter book is out on the 21st July!!!!

Hope the lecture went well - im also really excited about the new Harry Potter book (planning of going to Tescos at midnight to pick it up when its released) - how sad am i!!!!
