Hello everyone *bestows hugs alround, and to anniestar's poorly kitties*
am just having a quiet panic-have to give a 2 hour lecture at 3pm to a bunch of students. I don't do much lecturing so am a bit nervous. I know i'll be fine when i start, it's the waiting that stresses me out! eeek. Ah well, i'll just keep telling myself i know more about the subject than them (I hope
). Erk
oooh-Last Harry Potter book is out on the 21st July!!!!0 -
Good luck Loubee. You will be fine. When I first graduated I got a job teaching adults. I was so stressed out that I used to be often up at 3am doing "rehersals!" I survived and I KNOW that you will know more about your subject than I did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO GET 'EM GIRL.Blind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.
And when no hope was left inside on that starry starry night.

Good luck Loubee (if you manage to read this before you go!)
Well, my day hasn't gone as planned. Got a text again from the "other mum" saying her DS isn't at school today so I will have to go and get DS before picking DD up from her school. I swear she does it deliberately. It's the only day of the week when she has to pick the boys up. Rant over. Sorry.
Was doing a load of photocopying at work and as it was so boring I put the BBC website up on the PC to read the news while I was doing it. I shouldn't have. Read the most horrendous story of nurses in a Russian hospital who were gagging babies by putting tape across their mouths because they couldn't cope with them crying. To make matters worse (if that's possible) the babies were orphans. I was in tears to think that people could be so heartless and uncaring to do something so awful to tiny defenceless babies.
Didn't mean to bring the tone down - the story just touched me.
Off to do the school run now. Hope Thursday is being good to you. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

I can't comprehend that, why would someone chose to harm another, let alone an innocent child. Its for these reasons that I don't listen to the news or buy the paper. Some things need to be brought to our attention, but the news never gives a fair balance of the good and bad sides of humanity.
We need some mint card rebalance, can anyone return with some good news thats happenend today.I had a plan..........its here somewhere.0 -
Moggins, that is so useful about getting the drops direct from the web, cheaper too. Thanks for that, save me going on a long trip to my vets for my two cats.
I am having a good clearout today, love it! Always got so much stuff we don't need, emptied bathroom cabinets - found stuff I didn't know we had and loads of face cream!!! I know this has a sort of shelf life - anyone know how long before I chuck it??
Have managed to deplete my collection of BOGOF stuff like shampoo - now just have loads of deoderant. Still, it will be used.
Cooking beef (again) Seems I have loads in my freezer - all bought reduced in true ms style of course - but I know we can cook that from frozen, and never think to defrost anything the night before!
Off I go again back to it, have a good afternoon all. I am back to work tomorrow (but as its Friday - I don't really mind) Then one week before I get a week off for the hols. My dd3 will stay with nanny tomorrow - I don't think I'll send her back to school just yet.
catch you later (((anniebooklover))) and anyone else who needs one x

Good news: 1.500 volunteers have gathered together to build 6 playgrounds in one day for New Orleans schools still recovering from Hurricane Katrina.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

And the cynic in me says it won't make the evening news!
Such a shame thats great news, I firmly believe that if we promoted more good acts and less bad ones firstly our general outlook would be better (less pessimistic), and more of us would feel guilty that we personally were not doing more to help others.:j
Its the old adage, movie makers won't take responsibility for promoting violence, they say they are just representing society. Well to a certain extent this is true but why are there less movies made about good things than bad. We are not inherently bad in nature, on the contrary the majority of us are predominantly good.
My apologises for getting on the soapbox, some topics bring out the worst in me.:oI had a plan..........its here somewhere.0 -
Mikey I understand exactly what you mean, however I know that most people are predominantly good and however much the TV people try to prove otherwise I will still stick to my own beliefs! The threefold law being the biggest of them

moggins wrote:annie, you do know you can get Frontline and Drontal without prescription now? I buy all mine off the internet and it is half the price that you would pay from the vet.
Hello Moggins! Do you have any links for that? My 4 cats are all due flea and worm injections again so if I can save money on the flea treatment, I will!
Have photographed a lot of stuff at mum's....now just need to get it all on Ebay...going to take me a loooooong time.
Went to the pre-school today to pick up a form for daughter - she's only 20 months, but they are put on the waiting list from 18months! Unfortunately they didn't have any forms left so they took my name and will ring me when they get some more. Daughter really wanted to go in and play with the children...when we got into the car to go over to my mum's, she sat quietly in her car seat for about 10 seconds and then said "bye bye girls".... I really need to find a playgroup / Mum & Tots near her to take her to. She loves playing with other children.
Alternatively I could do what my gran suggested - have a brother or sister for her!!! LOL...
Happy Birthday to those born today and congratulations to those with anniversaries!
I've got an interview for a part time job tomorrow. It's 2 and a half hours every day (unfortunately) but at least it will be extra money coming in that I can throw at the credit cards and or use for groceries to take the stress from OH's wages a little. Fingers crossed that I get it and can start soon. Really big downside is that I'll miss Daughter's bedtime every night.
Not sure how either of us will cope with that as she's never had even 1 night so far that I haven't put her to bed.
Not looking forward to that part of it....and I think OH's a bit nervous too.
Speaking of which, I'd better get directions to this place tomorrow!
