    Mmmm pigeon is lovely :)

Woodpigeon is delicious... Feral city pigeons are probably diseased and revolting!

I have cleared all the boxes (bar one which is destined for my parents' house) and excess shelves from the study and moved the chest of drawers in and cleared out the drawers. So I have more stuff for the charity shop, only one drawer of presents (which need sorting and labelling and USING), and a need to find new homes for the airbed and a pair of curtains that I need to hang on to as I might use them in the spare room.

Tomorrow I need to clear the window sill and cut the curtain pole to length and get it upl then the curtains can go up and everything is done until the shelves go up and the wardrobe arrives (well i'll need to make tie-backs and source a lampshade, but otherwise it's done and just needs keeping tidy!).

Then I can start sorting out the stuff stacked in the spare room, and also start slowly migrating work clothes into the empty drawers. :D

BTW the new, somewhat OTT monitor is making working SO much easier :T
  • Wow you have all been busy.

I am shattered. Took my dad to Hampton Court Palace for a day trip, driving 4 hours each way:eek:

He has always wanted to go there but won't stay away overnight, so took the bull by the horns and just did it.

He loved it. Was shouted at by an actor (who just loved his job) for not bowing properly as Henry VIII flounced past in a strop. All good fun - not sure what the visitors from abroad made of it all.
Watched the last part of Great Expectations, which we really enjoyed, but think I am ready for bed now.

    Back to real world tomorrow
  • It was almost whole - and hidden, you are a Mum it's gotta take a lot more to scare you than a little old rabbit.

Now if I really wanted to freak you out I would give you the recipe I used:D

Mind you I am the one who didn't realise the Mentor merrily chatting about his "long-eared chickens" was actually talking about bunnies:o

I've been given 72 hours to come up with the business plan for my speaking work - so time for some tidying / brainstorming and then I shall make a plea on the Matrix for some practical help please.

    Countdown is on

I was given a recipe once from a friend who use to shoot rabbits ( sorry all veggies/animal lovers out there but this was a vermin control and all rabbits where eaten )

    Buck Rabbit Stew:
Place rabbit in pan with onions carrots and cover with water
    Add and axe head
    Bring to boil
When axe head is soft ............give rabbit 10 more minutes ;)

  • That is so true - Bucks tend be a wee bit tough. Mind you I find 20 minutes in a pressure cooker leaves them lovely and tender and great for curry.

    Rabbit vindaloo anyone???

Been out to do my "stock-up" shop - loo roll, deodorant, coffee and vodka - seems like a perfectly sane list to me LOL

Am about to bite the bullet and order a wardrobe from Ik*a ... I've used their planner and have come up with what looks like a sensible combination of components to make it possible to keep organised inside - a shelf and boxes at the top, and extra rail halfway down as most of what will be in there is skirt/trouser suits and there is still a full-length space one side, and a storage box at the bottom. Suitcases can go on top (I MUST sort these out, I have loads and don't use them all) and one door is birch (to match the rest of my study furniture sourced from the same place) and the other mirrored (as there is no full length mirror in the house and I really should start making an effort to check that I'm looking respectable before going out in public!).

We're doing that with our wardrobe and the thought of it all being so organised is very exciting :o
Can't order it online though, so it'll have to wait until we have time/money to trek up to Bristol

    Just done the freezer rummage

Bacon bits and soup base for lentil soup for Dad
Stewing Steak and puff pastry for Steak Pie
Carrots, onions, cabbage, broccoli and potatoes in fridge
Red wine leftovers for good gravy
    Eggs for sponge for trifle
    Tin of fruit cocktail
    Milk and custard powder
    Sprinkles for on top

................... so all that I need to get for the traditional Scottish Ne'er Day dinner is a pot of double cream for the trifle. Wooohoooo!!! My budget is off to a blinder

Anyone here going to be in Vienna on Jan 16th, as I will be free in the evening :)

The idiots booked a lunchtime session before checking with me what time I could get there, and are now asking me to get a 6.50am flight. Which I am refusing to do, as it means getting up at 4am, and they're an hour ahead of me. I am NOT happy, and seriously considering asking my boss to retract his approval of the trip (particularly as he has already threatened to do this due to lack of completed paperwork as flights should have been booked today...).
