Got up this morning and really regretted saying "Oh I will leave the kitchen tidy up 'til tomorrow" Once its tidy will start on food for tonight and tomorrow - over to a friends house for NY celebrations and then friends who are having a hard time for lunch on NYD. Then possibly an update and refresh on my diary ready to tackle 2012 :)

I have to go into town today, which I am not looking forward to, but one of the reasons I am going is that I am having an indian head massage, which I AM looking forward to. Just not sure why I booked it for today as afterwards I have an opticians appointment and can imagine having oils in my hair and people thinking I have lank and greasy hair :o

We are having a couple of friends over tonight, but it means I have to go and pick them up and then take them home as they don't have a car and getting a taxi is not an option on NYE due to cost and busyness. So no drinking and turning out in the early hours of the morning doesn't really appeal, but it will be nice to see them.

Off to hoover and make the place look semi-respectable.....

If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

    Happy NY chev :D

I have done nothing since lunchtime, although I did finally manage to unpack my suitcase before I ate. I think I have a cold :( so might fill the log baskets and kindling box, and then sit down to write my thank you letters before having a bath and an early night. As OH is at home in bed with bronchitis, I didn't have any plans for tonight anyway...

Happy 2012 chev - may it bring you nothing but your hearts desire.

Me - steak pie filling, soup and trifle made (all with "Sabrina" playing on the computer whilst I worked) not a bad way to spend part of the afternoon.

15 minutes to straighten up the kitchen then back to the homework

Food all ready for tonight and prepped for tomorrow. Quick diary update and a rapid swish round house and get ready to go to friends. Heck if I am as organised as this in 2012 it will be a dream :)

Have I told you that about 15 years ago I pledged that for a whole yesr I will include the word 'love' in all my writing. Now if I were writing romantic novels this is not a problem; writing sociology and philosophy of science is a bit of a challenge. It worked - and made my life much more interesting.

This is wonderful - I bet you enjoyed it. My DH used to hate his job, and every report to the client had an extra 'F' inserted in the word 'partnership'. Sadly no one ever pointed out that there was no F in partnership.... (exactly...).

Best wishes for the New Year everyone.

    Sending sympathy.
I've been nursing a cold for the last couple of days. Seriously thinking about whether I want to stay up to see the New Year in.
