MG - The Matrix Re-wired

Options
So here we are again – setting off on a new thread as we have exhausted the post count on our previous thread “The Matrix Re-Evolution” – but as you can see we are still keeping up with our Matrix inspired theme.

Quick catch up to help you get up to speed with some of the chat occurring:

When we get stuck – we revert to doing stuff in "15 minute chunks” – because we believe that we can do anything for 15 minutes.

Loads of us have read “The Secret” and we are taking baby steps towards being more positive thinkers and having better expectations that the universe will provide for us what we “need” if not what we “want”.

We are all a work in progress.

We also talk a lot about “Frogs” – that’s from a book by Brian Tracey called “Eat That Frog” and its about doing the scariest thing on your to-do list first thing in the day to get it over and done with.

We have a private forum (called The Matrix) which was set up to keep all the chat about our businesses, start-ups and mentoring from a group of Personal Development “Guru’s” and otherwise off this forum so as not to breach its rules. This is a secure, invisible to the internet, forum so anything we say or explore on there is confidential.

So what’s going to be our challenge on this thread? ............. well lots of us have had a pretty rough time financially in the past and that’s where we start – but we are more about bringing abundance into our lives in every way that focusing on how “poor” we are. We like to remind people “we are skint, not broke!!” Skint is temporary, broke is permanent.

We also love a challenge – these ladies have supported some of us to DFW Status (£10k in 22 months) and are now encouraging others to explore starting sideline business, pay off their mortgages or just simply getting more cheerful about the challenge of living in a recession. So if you want to play, jump on in.

Our Motto - "Together we can do anything" - and together we have done some amazing projects.

Here’s to a positive and supportive DFW journey with the “MG - The Matrix Re-wired” The title refers the fact that we can choose to re-wire our thought and attitudes ourselves and move forward at any time towards a more compelling future. It also refers to the fact that I am currently rewiring my DS2's bedroom to give him a lovely room for Christmas.

So pour yourself a cuppa, bake some hob nobs and pull up a chair to join in – although be warned................

WE CAN STILL REALLY TALK !!!!!

  • YAY! to new challenges and a nice shiny re-wired thread.

    Thanks MG!
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Focus more on income generation than on cutting back (I don't think you can cut back anymore unless you start making porridge from the sawdust generated by your building work...)

... Talking of which, update on the building work and prep for your lodgers please.
  • There you all are :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Starting the new thread with an expensive day. Going to get my hair cut and coloured but it is my birthday treat. (Does anyone else have to get their hair done two weeks before they have a special day out because it looks at its best two weeks after a cut?)

Keep trying to tell my OH we can put more insulation in the loft a la MG and we only need lots of tights to keep it in place but he doesn't believe me. Do you have pictures?

    Welcome again Kimsmum.
  • Mornin' all.

Woo hoo to a shiny new thread

Nuts to no-show house viewers Groatie  but yay to a lovely clean house.

Positive thoughts going out to all those on-strike / affected by strikes today.

Off to tackle some 15-min tasks, Thriftyxxx

I'm pleased with myself for phoning the bank yesterday to change my account. I was in financial poo a few years ago and ever since then I've needed a few deep breaths before feeling up to phoning them. At least they've stopped shouting my balance at me, whether I want to hear it or not.

Today... not sure yet. Housework I suppose, which definitely has to be done in 15 minute chunks. In fact it might need to be smaller chunks than that still. It depends how well I feel and I won't know until I make a start. OH said he's going to take our son out to the park this morning, so that might give me some TIME TO MYSELF!!! I might even have a shower in peace...

    I hope everyone's having a good day :)

  • Yay! Found you! Going to post on the other thread with this thread's address so everyone can come on over and join the party!!

Not much to report here, although there doesn't seem to be too many people on picket lines at the moment. I have had to go around particular buildings and see if lecturers were in/out of their appointed lecture and seminar rooms.

  • Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaa, shiny, sparkly new thread, just in time for the shiny, sparkly event that is Xmas.

I kind of lost my way a little bit Matrix wise, it seemed that all I ever had to say was dark stuff and felt a little bit that it was bringing the thread down, but am in a much better place now, so hopefully will be able to contribute, even if its just my, sometimes inane ramblings. Lol.

Still got loads of stuff going on including a house move, (don't ask). But I will not give up my beloved Leyla, so its taking its time. But its looking good. Saturday is my 6 MONTH NO SMOKING anniversary yay.
I actually got this far (how did the font change, cos I didnt do it on purpose lol). So onwards and upwards for us all, welcome to newbies and lurkers (lurkers please join in, the more the merrier).
