Verb:
Use borrowed capital for (an investment), expecting the profits made to be greater than the interest payable.
Using equity in my property to buy other investments that create more money ............. but that is a Loooonnnnggggg way off just yet. Focus is the thing.
I have come over all Chrismassy - received a parcel this afternoon from one of Matrixettes - all sorts of lovely crafty stuff and Christmassy stuff too. So in the mood now.
I am taking this as a hint to put more crafty stuff on the blog - which I will do as soon as I have finished the grunt work of building.
There is even a gorgeous piece of wool for making a skirt - and I am itching to get the sewing machine out but probably should stick to my chop saw / drill combination for a few more days.
But this is what I am making with the cocoa/ cream herringbone when I am organised:

Ouch at the £129 price tag though.
Its going to be a brilliant New Year

Which will come as no surprise to a few people around here, eh?

Ah Saorsie, I always wanted a sister
But it sounds like your work is really getting too much. Did you get a massive pay rise? Sounds like you need a change. I'm doing this course Springboard on the recommendation of Cherisong / Mrs Moo. Sounds as if it would be good for you - any way you can persuade your work to send you (and pay?)
It is, it's ridiculous. And I certainly have not had a payrise! Unfortunately my job title hasn't changed, I'm still working on one programme as I was before, it's just this one is much more complicated and demanding. I don't think the uni wold make that distinction though, especially with things the way they are moneywise.
The course sounds good but (I know, BUT! Just what I said I wanted to stop doing!) travelling to London four times in three months would double the cost. I'll start with The Secret, will PM you in a min Buffy - thank you.
MG I watched that prog last night. Couldn't believe people could be so naive as to put multiple £££ courses on their credit cards, thinking that sticking post-its all over their house will make them millions! Madness.Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

Ok so was multi-tasking (ironing) whilst watching. Found myself wanting to scream at the screen "For Goodness Sake - stop taking seminars and got out and do something!!!!!"
Wishing to be rich doesn't make it so - you have to actually take action too - peeps on here who have their financial lives coming under control understand that.
Stop spending!
Get your basic budget under control
Automate your debt repayments till they are clear
Build an emergency fund
Buy assets not liabilities - then leverage
There - just saved you £50K
Mind you I shall probably tune into the next episode anyways :rotfl:
Back upstairs to the timber works (building an asset BTW)

Just think MG - you could run seminars with a few bits of hugging and clapping shoved in them somewhere.... And then you'd be one of those millionaires... In fact, we could run them as a matrix franchise... You do the mind maps, some of us can design the seminars, some of us can present and we'll all make our fortunes
Talking of which, I have just spent rather a lot of money as I discovered after packing my summer clothes away that my winter wardrobe was rather sparse. I have lots of suits (all those kept can be used for work) and a fair amount of smart/casual office stuff (rarely use this as I hardly go into the office) taking up my wardrobe space, so want to make room for a wardrobe in the study for this to go in.
Most stuff was in the sale, and apart from a cashmere jumper from jigsaw, none of it particularly pricy. I found a lovely http://www.jigsaw-online.com/fashion/1001450/J13950/womens/skirts/fine-stretch-cord-skirt in Jigsaw but they didn't have it in a 12And they don't on the website either
if only I had MG's skills I could make myself one!
I need to sort out the bits of Christmas shopping I did get round to, make a list of what's left to do, and then make a list of what else I need to get for my winter wardrobe...0 -
Just a quickie to say I finally got around to making MrsB Lentil and Walnut loaf - can I just say, it is LUSH!!!!
And as a side note - FW will testify that I have post-its, big cheques and motivational stuff around my house. I guess like everything else it only works when you get off your bahookie and take some massive action .................. but I certainly wouldn't be like the lady on the programme, spending a 50k inheritance, maxing the credit cards and taking my family to the brink of bankruptcy just to go on a course. Scarey stuff.
Off to eat my tea, then lounge on my patchwork sofa gazing lovingly at my lovely new skirt length ............... maybe I should get out more :rotfl:

I watched it last night. Fascinating - the ones who made it, did so because THEY DID SOMETHING. The ones that looked and sounded funny didn't get that changing your mentality (and the exercises, naff as these look) are important. But these are to complement acting rather than suplant it.
I would say that the main thing is to 'sell liabilities and buy assets'. Which is hard initially - until one builds a bit of capital. BTW we do play Cashflow - if you are looking for a family Christmas present this is a good one. DS3 will grow up to be a proper neo-liberal capitalist (this is said with mixed feelings; but then I do want to go to a nice old peoples' home).
