Oops sorry, didn't think about that! I have now posted on the other side so any help would be gratefully received ;)

May I be included 'on the other side' also please? I have been faithfully keeping up with the thread, working my way through the books that lovely Buffy very kindly sent me and yes, been thinking a bit more positively as a result ~ so all good

Second exam today, I am not as well prepared as for the Monday's one. Was riddled with the tummy bug yesterday. But anyhoo, I shall give it a go.

Normal service shall resume when I have recovered...

So much for winding down fro the holidays ....................

Just found at this morning that a newspaper wants to come and do a photo shoot on Friday - store cupboard, sewing clothes, thick curtains, making hummus and pitta, knitting socks kind of thing.

............... only I am still at the sawdust ad plasterboard stage and the house is looking like a tip.

Time for some strategic cleaning :eek:

Back soon with a plan. ( so that I don't have a panic)

Righto - first thing that needs to be sorted.

I have a budget of £100 to spend on a camera (but I could be done with getting it today to take photos for a Women magazine) I know its sort notice but they need something by lunchtime.

Only really got Argos here - so can someone who knows about cameras have a quick lookie and see what would be the best camera for the pennies.

There seems to be a lot out of stock - but my local store has a postcode of kilo, yankee, one, five

    What about this? http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5594542/Trail/searchtext%3EDIGITAL+CAMERA.htm

    or this:

Please help cos I haven't got a clue

  • Hi MG and everyone,

Longtime lurker and very occasional poster popping up, as cameras are my area of comfort!

Personally i would go for the JX350 - good spec and rechargable batteries which are a real plus point, the other one runs on AA's which in my experience would only last for a few photos.

I'll have a quick look after the school run for any others if no body else has done it before me if you like.

Good luck with the cleaning plan - my plan today consists of Christmas card writing and charity shop volunteering.

Have a great day one and all.

Good advice from Alison above... The battery thing is really important, and extra memory cards and a spare battery and maybe a case will sort your present lists for a while!

Must drag myself away from the net, out some washing on, consider whether to get my tyres changed and make sure I'm in the office by midday at the latest. I want to pick up a Christmas tree this morning as well (a real one.... It can be next year's kindling :))

Good luck with the tidying MG... And the photoshoot. Details over the other side please :D

    Good morning

My house is still a tip too, even though the windowarea was cleaned to put the tree up, they dumped everything on the table and it is still there :( I have left it but it is starting to get on my nerves now.

washing sorted on rads, lasts nights washing put to dry, quilt washed and on rads, now there are whites in the machine :) DW emptied refilled and back on. Carrot and parsnip soup on cooking :) needed to use some old veg up before I started on the new.

Mam got hospital appointment this morning, tesco delivery between 3 and 5 tthen ds2 and myself are going to start making some xmas goodies.

  • Hello again,

Phew, school run done, house next on the list. My DS 7th Birthday was on Monday, so i have an influx of toys that i need to find homes for/tidy before the next influx...eek!

Having a browse through the cameras MG, this one looks a cracker too. Great features, good zoom, tried to check stock with the postcode you gave, but it required the full postcode so made the last bit up. So hope it still gave me the right store - but it said it was in stock.

I will edit this post to add any others that i find, but for a point and shoot that will give good results in most light conditions and scenarios i think this one is great.
