    Afternoon ladies.

Just having a mug of sweet tea to calm my nerves - nearly had an accident this morning as I pulled out of a junction right when some loon was doing over 20mph around a blind corner. I had been waiting for about 5 mins to make sure nothing was coming as my vision was partly obscured by an unhelpful van driver who had parked on the bend. Thank goodness for good brakes and quick reactions both on my part and that of the speeding driver. I had to go out this morning for a supply of bin bags, came back from the shops with 2 rolls of bin bags, 2 large plastic zip topped bags (the kind you see people take stuff to the launderette in). I have found a load of ex bf's t-shirts in my drawers and these will be used to carefully wrap my breakables. So far I have cleared out the airing cupboard and sorted out some rubbish which has been taken to the bin. I realised today that I have been here for more than 5 years thus I have accumulated a load of stuff.

Heard hammering on my door at 7.30am (I was still in my dressing gown) - it was the landlord's handyman wanting to look at my door key because he needed a key for the letting agents (seems that there is more than one). He got short shrift from me because I haven't had an acknowledgement of my impending move from my landlord and discovering that I had had zero notice about viewings:mad: I wasnt able to do any tidying in the week because I spent a large proportion of time away from home so I am trying to pack more than 5 years' worth of stuff over a long weekend and get my flat looking a little tidier. They will have to excuse the crates in the front bedroom which means they cannot fully get into the room to look. He is going to ask the agents to contact me before they arrange viewings because he could see my point about how disturbing it was to suddenly find people here.

Wowsers - just heard that Mr MSE has sold the site for a pretty penny.

Good on him I say - he has worked bloody hard building a brand that people trust and he must be knackered with all the management and his media stuff (after all this place was only ever set up to support that and now it dominates)

I'm scared to go looking on the other threads - as no doubt there will be loads of naysayers calling him three ways from Friday - but as far as I am concerned he had the guts to pursue the initial idea so he deserves his pay-day.

I know people will now be knocking him down and accusing him of selling out, but ...........

thanks to this place I am Debt Free
thanks to this place I have saved our home
thanks to this place I met some brilliant people
thanks to this place my children and I have a rosy financial future
thanks to this place I have found the courage to write
thanks to this place I have found great friends

And the cost of all these benefts to me has been - NADA, ZIP, ZILCH, NOTHING!!!!

Besides if it isn't worth it for Twink's Hob Nobs alone I don't know what is??

I'm sure things will change - and change is scary for some people, but on here we support one another's successes and triumphs - and I hope that this is the first huge success that we can celebrate and that the Matrix goes on to have a few of their own.

So grab that Entrepreneurial idea by the tail ladies, roll up our sleeves and lets get busy being our lovely, productive positive selves and lets build ourselves a brilliant hand-made future.

Off my soap box now - so don't shoot LOL

Aw - he just tweeted that there will be a baba MSE in November - methinks there will be some pretty sore heads at MSE Towers tomorrow LOL

The site has helped me enormously and in particular helped me find friendship with all of you on The Matrix. I have become more frugal because of this site and it has helped me out of debt and certainly made my debt more manageable.

It makes good business sense to sell something for a high price although I do foresee that MSE will change in the future into something that is a bit more salesy.

OMG - it is lunchtime and I have just remembered that I have a pork pie in my handbag:eek:

Seen Olympic torch today - was very good - nice build up with freebie coke and wavey stick things, lots of motorbike police (always nice to see a man in leathers - no offence to the ladies that were also riding) and lots of men in uniform - oh and there was a torch thing as well :rotfl:Kids enjoyed it, which is the main thing and despite feeling yeurgh this morning I have managed to get loads done today all to avoid doing the real schoolwork I should be doing :o

Must admit that I havent been bothered about the Olympic torch at all as I am more interested in the Jubilee and watching some fantastic things on the tv. I am quite sad that in mum's village they aren't celebrating like we did for the Silver Jubilee but I guess that's because a lot of the original folk have left the road and the incomers (those that live on the new estate) don't wish to interact with others. I remember the Silver Jubilee - we had a great time with a street party, a bonfire with fireworks on the local park plus we had a welly wanging competition and a fancy dress as well as other stuff that I can scarcely remember.

As for the pork pie it is now safely tucked away in my tummy - I picked it up in the supermarket when I got my bin bags and couldnt be bothered picking up a carrier bag so the pie went into my handbag:rotfl:

BTW my Decree Nisi arrived today and now I have to wait until July 2nd to apply for my Absolute.

So Martin Lewis has sold out too lol. Nothing lasts, this will change, and move away from what kicked it all off. No wonder I jumped ship when I did. All things change, and evolve and people move on, but sometimes I wonder if it is for the better. You cant stay in limbo, but everything today is soooooo MONEY orientated people are never happy with what they have, always wanting more. Glad I got out when I did and Martin Lewis selling out confirms I was right, this place has lot its purpose and originality and become swamped with people who wannabee just like the original.
