Alison, does your work give you access to counselling? It may be a phone number. If they do, then it can be really helpful. I remember a colleague of mine used it when a tragedy affected some people close to him and he found it gave him the strength he needed. It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

Alison - I will be thinking of you, and sending all positive vibes to your mum, you and the family at a very difficult time. Try to stay positive, and find someone to talk to as has been suggested by Groatie. xSealed pot Challenge 2011 member No 1241 - Final total £154.21

Positive thoughts and vibes to Crickett and Alison :AOne step at a time0

Sorry to hear your news APP, I echo what has been said about finding someone to talk to. So difficult to carry the burden of worry alone, especially when trying to protect yoir little one at the same time,
Hugs and vibes being sent.
More hugs and vibes for you too Crickett, you are doing so well. Take care x0 -
Late to the party Alison - had a poorlie one last night who just wanted to be cuddled (up with the larks and on his "second breakfast" now though)
Please do NOT feel you are alone -the reason the Matrix hangs on in here is to be a soft place to fall when we are having our crisis ............ Ssssh!!! but you will notice that there is very little DFW chat on here these days so don't tell the Mods!
I know I too would feel overwhelmed with news like that - and would need to find a friend I could rumble on an on at ............... if there is no one in real life you feel like you can bear to lay this at then we are here - and you can bet we will be checking in through the day just to check that you are OK.
That goes for both of our ladies over the Bank Holiday weekend - we are you friends and that is what friends do (at least in my life LOL)

Thankyou ladies, although your kind words have reduced me to tears again (in a good way!) i feel better knowing that i can come here to rant/share/moan and that there will be such a fabulous and supportive group to help prop me up a bit. It may be "virtually" but if my fears are realised i know you will all be invaluable.
We are going away for the weekend on Friday so i am going to try and hang my worries on the rose bush in the garden before we go, and give DS a great few days away. I can pick them up and deal with them on our return as they aren't going anywhere and maybe a few a days in the garden will wash some of them away!
Has a fairly rubbish nights sleep and when i did sleep i had awful dreams about the situation that were horribly real, so much so i had to pick them apart to remember what was fact and what was my mind playing tricks this morning.
Now i must go and get DS ready for his school trip to the local nature reserve, the weather seems to have broken, so no suncream needed, but i will need to fish out the waterproofs instead!
Thankyou again from the bottom of my heart, have a great day all.
APP x0 -
Lots of (((hugs))) APP - agree with the others about finding someone to rant at close to home and trying to leave 'stuff' on the rose bush is a great idea. Will be thinking of you and praying for good news/peace.
Also don't fret too much about DS - from my experience of working with children the majority of them are incredibly resilient in very difficult circumstances and deal with things in a very matter-of-fact way.Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Alison and Crickett, thinking of you both at this difficult time.
Alison for what it's worth this is my opinion. Finding out the facts is not a bad thing - as long as they are genuine facts not scary stories. It enables you to be prepared for whatever happens.
'Ground glass opacity' is a very vague finding, it can be related to anything from normal breathing, asthma, peumonia, localised lung disease or various other types of disease. Yes it could indicate something really bad, but equally it may not, and finding out the cause is a lengthy process so it may take several tests and visits to identify what is wrong. Try not to panic because there is a way to go yet. And also don't forget that just because your Mum isn't saying anything and hasn't got her own computer it doesn't mean that she isn't worried as well, she may well have jumped to the worst conclusion too and be keeping quiet to protect you! It might be better to actually mention to her that the result could mean a whole range of things.
Well we might not be talking much about money-saving stuff on here at the moment but that's just because it has become such an ingrained way of life I think! In the process of bidding for some used cloth nappies on the 'Used Nappy Company' site!
Hope everyone has a good (or at least better) day today.0 -

This made me laugh and then I completely misunderstood the used nappies(yuck):rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Having had a friend here for a long weekend, late nights and being wiped out by the heat my house now looks like a disaster area. We go away for the weekend tommorrow, so I think some very quick 15 mins are ther order of the day.
On our wildlife front I can now confirm I have badgers visiting my garden:jnot just 1 but a pair:j:j these have duely been named Boris and Becky. They are so regular that I can tell the time by them and with the aid of peanuts they are now roaming on my patio.
I asked the Universe for abundance and riches a few weeks ago and it works - financially things are slowly improving, have been gifted an appointment with a kinesologist and now 2 badgers.
Had my first basic maths lesson/assessment and I am at entry level 3 - the governments recomended employment level and aimimg for level 1 C+G. This was a really big frog for me and the results suprized me as I thought I'd be much worse.
