MG - The Matrix Re-wired

Horace - apparently not much in the UK news about it. There were no casualties so I'm sure your cousin will be fine. I love what I have seen of Bulgaria so far - and the food is fabulous (normally when we're travelling we have far too much heavy food, so all the salad and yogurt and soft cheese and grilled food is wonderful).
Now in Athens... Standard hotel food as after last night I'm shattered so just want a swim and an early night (although we have to do some work first).0 -
Hope everyone's ok in the earthquake
Been out for a walk/run and the group 'boss' was there - I was late and they'd set off before me so she 'made' me run around the park with her later on (am still alive but only just!) am sure it will be doing me good even if I do feel like death at the moment! Is good to have someone nagging youMortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Wow!!! That yellow thing is still in the skies - and the sky is actually blue.
Does two days on the trot constitute a heat-wave?
I am out of money until Friday - but I actually can't see anything I need to buy (maybe some ice cream for the boys at a pinch). This week I just seem to have the perfect storm of bread flour, petrol and buying the books I need to Mind Map all at the same time. Blown my budget for a while.
Still - the store is there, the fresh stuff is holding out fine and there is plenty to be getting on with regardless so I feel not in the least bit "Skint" - I think the sunshine has turned my head LOL
In fact if the sun is still out come three o'clock I am taking the boys out for a beach supper - we go straight from school, spend a few hours exploring the rock-pools and paddling then have a supper of "dippy" bits before coming home for bed (just a little bit late).
So pitta breads are in the BM, chick peas are doing their "Quick soak" and the right lunch boxes have been found for filling.
Not bad for so early in the morning.

What can I make with naan bread to make an interesting meal? There's no meat here so he's turned his nose up at curry without it. Got to be as cheap as possible as there's no money until Friday! No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

Just serve him up the naan bread - get him trained early
Cook yourself something like a veggie curry or a bean curry and leave him to fill up on the bread. If there is no money he has lost the right to be fussy - Hello reality!! I am afraid.
You won't be skint forever - but during this time I'm afraid he has to put up or shut up doesn't he? ................ or HE needs to come up with a solution. You can put a meal on the table - if its not up to his standards then tough kitties.

My Mum has just arrived - she says give him a bowl of porridge - sheesh!!! and y0u think I am tough:rotfl:FINALLY AND OFFICIALLY DEBT FREESmall Emergency Fund £500 / £500

That would be porridge made with water MG, and no salt, sugar, cream or anything else
She's right Gemmzie - make something delicious for yourself, enjoy it with the naan bread, and he can go hungry. You're his partner, not his mother, but if he's going to behave like a child... (you could try sending him to bed early with no supper)
I have just realised that the presentation I have to give in an hour, which I didn't prep for as I have heard it plenty of times (although never given it) has a whole section on economics in the middle that is really beyond me. Although I can cover it at a high level, I'm not sure I can go into the detail required by the build. So... I have an hour to either learn the script or make something up. I think I need training...

Greenbee, make something up! I have never had great time with using someone else's presentation, though. Suppose with your work this is inevitable...
Oh, and talking about economics may be a bit tricky in Greece at the moment; they have become very uncoventional in economic terms and getting back to their leftist and, to a degree, anarchist roots.

Given some of the questions after the first presentation, I'm beginning to have a very clear understanding of why they are in the mess they are in
If I wasn't so lazy  I'd have redone the slide pack to take out the builds so I could cover it at a higher level (it's just supply and demand and discounting behaviours, so nothing wildly complex). And yes, we are expected to be able to pick up any presentation that relates even vaguely to our coverage area and talk about it... some people manage it by bringing every topic back to their own specialist area
Must remember to check in for the next flight as soon as we've got through these presentations. I'm not sure I'll have much voice left for tomorrow after doing two presentations today...0 -
Good morning ladies (and gents).
It is another glorious day here today - the yellow thing is still in the sky and the forecasters say that it will still be here on Saturday:j
I am trying to plan stuff today - I must not get into a panic either because whatever needs doing will be done. One of my chums said last night at the committee meeting that I could have some moving boxes as he had some leftover from his own move. Another suggested that I put a plea out on FB amongst my friends for a large van and some help with moving in exchange for beer, pizza and maybe a bbq. Pizza would be easy because the local shop always has a BOGOFF - so a few pizzas and then bbq goodies from the local butcher with some baps, salad and relishes would be easy enough to do. This chum reckons that he and a few others could shift all the furniture and stuff in about 2hrs - 3 at most.
Now I need to write to the landlord and I will point out to him that I have been without a proper cooker since July last year and that one door handle on the pantry door has been broken for several months and despite promises by his chaps to fix both neither have been done.
Spoke to ex hubby last night and he has said that he will hang onto the furniture until I am ready because he doesnt want me to store it in a damp shed as it is too good for that. I must say he is being remarkably amenable.
Might be looking around the house this afternoon with mum, however, she thinks that the vendors will turn up and she would rather deal with them by herself so I would need to make myself scarce. I shall take the curtain samples that I picked up yesterday as I want to see what they would look like in the bedroom...of the two that I like, I am veering more towards the red, taupe and green ones as opposed to the cream ones. When I take them back then I will have a look in their offcuts bin to see what delights I can find for matrixettes.
Hope everyone has a find and dandy day today. Greenbee just wing it with the economics thing as I feel sure they wouldnt know.0 -
4 hours with a pnuematic drill and clouds of grey dust are not the ideal way to spend a morning at work!:eek:The only good thing about it was boss lady was away.
I so appreciated the sanctuary I cam home to.
Horace:
Breathe..... Good idea from your friends about FB appeal for help -it works round here.
Also just pack a room at a time, baby steps all the way.
