    Happy Belated Birthday to Igamogam.

Didnt do much at all yesterday as it was far too wet and windy to go out plus I had the sniffs (probably from being cold) so I didnt dare pass on anything to dad as it would finish him off.

I need some help over on the otherside so any advice would be appreciated.

I have found a ready source of sturdy cardboard boxes as the local tat shop chucks their's out and now I can have as many as I want for moving. I packed two boxes this morning - one is full of cushions and the other has some pictures and nicknacks in. I also discovered that they sold huge balls of wool (ok it is acrylic and hasnt been near a sheep) for £1. This shop sells all kinds of things.

Yesterday I was watching tv - and in particular watching a Kirsty Allsopp property programme, it was all about chains and what can go wrong etc. I was gobsmacked with one woman who was at the top of the chain...the vendors of the house she was buying lived overseas so couldnt actually see what she was up to...she hadn't exchanged contracts yet she had borrowed the keys and been round to the house to ostensibly measure up instead she measured and had new carpets fitted, she repainted one of the rooms, weeded the garden, asked contractors to lay slabs and remove a hedge before moving her teddy bear cottage (a thatched wendy house) from her own home to the new one. Unfortunately the vendors were in the dark - personally, I think that the programme makers should have said something.

I have a busy couple of days ahead with a trip to the city centre tomorrow to visit R*mploy and on Wednesday when I have to leave the house at the unearthly hour of 7.30am to be at the hospital for 9.25am:eek:

Sad news for me yesterday, my Gran passed away. Just heading home this evening for her funeral tomorrow. She was a wonderful lady and we will all miss her. But also I am glad she had a long and happy life until age 84 and didn't experience major illness or impairment until 6 months ago.

Hoping that the funeral will be a wonderful celebration of a life well lived, filled with a whole horde of family with whom many memories can be shared.

Righto - car is going to be fixed - but I fear frugal food may be the motto of next month - squeaky tight, but 'puter says Yes!

Still it only took me a month to get back on an even keel after Arran and Manchester - so fingers crossed for May - Glorious May!!! If it ever stops raining that is LOL.

Had a lovely bean and bread soup for lunch - no really it was lovely and all the way through I was thinking "curses DS1 lucked out he got to take the leftover thai red curry"

Surely "coveting another's packed lunch" isn't normal LOL

Aw - cross posted Lara Love - so sorry to hear of your Gran. Love to you and your family and I shall light a candle in the window for her tonight to guide her way home. Hope the next few days are not too rough hon.

Lara, condolences. Let yourself grief but you are right - she had a happy, long life. Passing is inevitable, regretfully.

Woop - I am getting the hang of the blogging software thanks to MrF - I now have a section called "Frugal Stuff" under which I can capture all the recipes and things that I don't want to clutter up the front page of the blog with.

Rather than annoy you all with loads of emails I have even learned how to NOT send emails when I post new recipes - otherwise how annoyed would everyone be getting 3-4 emails every day from the mad MG???

Now to get the Thai curry recipe up there are "Ahem!!!" requested.

Done - oops, having bragged that I had learned how "not" to send, I did, didn't I - sorry my friends - blame my fat fingers.

Lara - sorry to hear about your gran - I hope that you are all able to celebrate her life as 84 is a good age.

Today, I have been thinking about money (never far from my thoughts), I have also been typing up minutes interspersed with a whole load of procrastination e.g. MSE and FB as well as looking at a software programme that should help me to create my own logo which needs to go onto the blog and the other one can be removed.

I had a jam sandwich for lunch - it was deliciously yummy. MG there is nothing wrong with covetting the contents of someone's lunchbox.:D

Too tired when I got home last night to post - only enough energy for a glass of wine and to be scared silly watching Silent Witness:eek:

The 'Laydees' treated me to a fab afternoon tea in a very very upmarket establishment in these parts - tiers of cakes and exquisite sandwiches, clotted cream, jam, buckets of tea ( well silver teapots actually) but in a constant supply from our very own waiter all served in a private room - the library - all wood panelling and shelves of huge old books and a log fire ( it was that cold) kept topped up by our very own log putter onner! Great company and lots of laughs, reminiscences and a few tears and plenty of photos. All finished off with a fab present - a beautiful wooden 'steamer' garden chair for sundowners in the garden.... if it ever warms up:)

We where eventually asked to leave.........in the nicest possible way as they needed the room for another function starting in half an hour. Well we had been there 4 hours ......boy can we talk and it was the perfect end:rotfl::rotfl:

    Good friends:A

Sounds lovely Igamogam - am tempted to copy your post and leave it lying around for DH to give him ideas!

Sorry to hear of your loss Lara - you are in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time.

Amazed today that the sun was shining after a fortnight of rain as we were out minibeast hunting and nest building in park with class and we all had wellies and spare clothes ready for the inevitable downpours only to be sweating cobs in the glorious sunshine!
House has reached 'bogging' stage so going to do an hour and a half zooming round to loud music before settling down to worky stuff. Got actions all organised and started for Uni work and got a good way through the initial maze and feeling more positive about it all now after a weekend of 'getting there'

Ssssshhhh!!! dn't want to jinx it - but ................. the suns's out

And yes I do have a load of washing on.

Now that the car situation is sorted, today feels like a brand new start.

Got a girlie friend coming on Skype video later to show me a neat recipe for me to share - so looking forward to that.

Apart from that - spending lots of money on car repairs and road tax - Pah!!!!

    Up an at en ladies
