    Love it MG thank you!

I'll have to stay away from the blog this weekend if it's foodie related, far too tempting!

Must admit that I havent seen the article in the Kit Kat mag as the mag was sold out around these parts:(

Just planning on what to have for lunch and have just realised that I have forgotten to get meat out of the freezer for tonight, I do have stewing steak out but planned to use that tomorrow for a stew. Ho hum, I might have to have an omelette instead.

Now smiling as I applied for a job this morning and about 20 mins later a reject email was fired back so I dared to ring for feedback and spoke to a rather snotty woman. I think it threw her that someone had dared to ask for feedback which she was unable to give because she admitted that she never looked at the CVs so immediately I asked how she was able to able to reject a CV if she hadn't looked at it. Needless to say she fumbled a bit before saying that her boss had looked and rejected mine because I did not have engineering experience (this was a desirable and not an essential). I think I know a bit more about engineering than the daft snotty woman after all I have built a car from scratch and restored my very first car, plus I have changed piston rings on a Triumph Bonneville motorcycle before now:D As the jobcentre pointed me in the direction of the job I shall ensure that I give them suitable feedback when I sign on on Friday:D Didnt want to work for them anyway...its their loss...oh I am so glad I am not a bimbo who will sit filing her nails and batting her eyelids at the boss:rotfl:

I haven't seen the Kit Kat magazine either - didn't manage to get a copy during my gallavanting ..................... so if anyone can spare the pages I would love them (or a decent scan and quick email would be perfect), as it would be really cool to put it up on the site for those of us who missed it.

I have a low res copy but you can read t when blown up - sorry

    Hi, MG,

A copy of the Kit-Kat magazine will be winging its way to you as soon as it stops raining enough for me to venture to the postbox!

Thank you hon - we got MORE hail - seriously, sun glasses needed for driving and hail, hail, hail this week. Gotta love our weather.

I will scan and put all the publications up asap.

Just got an email saying that my guest post has been published on an American PF Blog Pennythots - without revision and "can we have more in this style please :j" :D Already go them written just need to edit down a couple.

So going to make hummus and pitta for dinner (special request) and rationalise my crafty project ideas. Trying for a broad range - but need to double check some patterns n stuff.

Got a fabby rabbit in shabby chic dress
    Prairie rag doll
    hanky holder
knitted facecloth - great for exfoliation
    Patchwork peg bag
    A book cover
    Kids Apron
    Gardening Apron

and the rest I am undecided on so far.

And can you tell I am avoiding doing the marketing blurb for the books? - another "don't do as I do - do as I say" moment I'm afraid.

    And she's off

  • I know there are lots of different jobs between all of us... does anyone have experience of letting agents?

Ours are trying to take over £600 from us, because of a tiny rust mark in the sink and a scratch mark on the work top. They claim they both need replacing. Also, we cleaned the carpets as housemates mum had a carpet cleaner, but they are trying to charge us £140 for that and £40 for general cleaning.

I've emailed back asking for evidence of damage and evidence that it warrants the full replacement of the items. I also explained if I'm not satisfied with the outcome I shall be taking it to the dispute service for tenants deposit.

I'm tempted to go knock on the door if the new tenants are there and ask to see if they replaced them. What else can I do?

    Thanks.

Oh and well done to new jobs etc :) and good luck to those looking.

I would just go straight back and say you want it put to arbitration TBH. Landlords are NOT allowed to claim "betterment" - and it sounds like everything yo have described can be claimed as "fair wear and tear"

Did the Letting Agent give you a signed inventory on the way in and one on the way out?

I only kept deposits - if a carpet needed to be entirely renewed - (three iron marks) or flat was completely trashed in which case I put a contract cleaner in to do the work (but lady did a moonlight and never came back for deposit anyway).

Was your deposit registered - and were you given notification of who with (if not then you can claim 3 times the deposit back anyways)
