  • Thank you all for the lovely words...made me smile, which while I am at work is a novel experience!! :D

I too add my wishes for safety for our Scottish contingent. Take care one and all...! It looks majorly horrid up there. Don't suppose you want to keep the weather do you?! :D

So, another day full of work and to do lists and stuff like that. Just delivered all of the work Christmas cards and sent the local posted ones. Hubby has been asked to do the international postage ones either today or tomorrow. Hopefully they will reach their destinations in time! Air Mail is the only way I think! :D

This evening we are due to go to the University Choir Carol Concert, so I am looking forward to that. Not sure if we are going to go though as it depends on how tired I am at the end of the day. :) Either way, the money I paid will go to a good cause, so I am not too bothered about missing it!

Thank you for all your tips... ;)

    Love and positivity

    WIND!!!!!! what wind :eek::eek:

Naturally DS2's Forest Kindi is cancelled - visions of kids taking off like kites :rotfl:

Now DS1's school has texted saying please collect them at 12.30 so I will have all my boys back safe with me by lunchtime before the worst of the weather is due to hit.

Bread is on and a pot of soup - but I am too feart to open the curtains and watch the "horizontal sunshine" out of the window.

BTW - got news that one of my new girlies (one of the journalists) is pregnant - so just got two more to hear about( nor pressure crickett but my kntting pins are itching to get started LOL). I am thinking of inviting her onto the Matrix when I know her a bit better as she will totally "get" us all on there.

Keep hunkered down with your sweeties Northern Ladies - its going to be a doozie.

    MG

BTW If I lose broadband (likely) I shall check in via MrF later in the day.

  • It's blowing a hoolie here too. Between gusts I rushed out and uprooted the "For Sale" sign before Nature did it for me - it's now safely stowed in the garage till things calm down. It could have been quite a lethal missile if it snapped as the winds increase. The letter box is flapping, so I'm about to use some blu-tack to keep it still.

It's SC time here - my old one died and it's time to experiment with the new one. Chicken tonight! Definitely a day to coorie doon at home.

Hope the boys get home safe and sound MG.

    OH Boy!!!!

Sure wish I had built that Ark during the summer :D

It is so dark here its like the middle of the night - thank goodness for energy saving bulbs.

Why do humans not hibernate?? Remind me again??

Poor wee DS2 is going to get soaked and blown about on the way home I fear - I think I might treat him to a bubble bath later.

    Still got electric - wohhooo!!!

Off to make a jar of mocha coffee - creamy coffee/chocolate mix that you can make with boiling water.

    1 measure of coffee powder
    2 measures chocolate milkshake powder
    3 measures dried milk powder

Mix together and then use 3 heaped teaspoons in a mug of boiling water for a hot creamy drink.

    Keep safe lassies

    Good morning

Well been a busy bee today so far, downstairs has been cleaned floors washed, dry clothes on rads sorted, wm on, wet clothes on rads,

Upstairs starting to look better now we have started getting ds1's stuff back in his bedroom, so my goal today is to get the master bedroom straight.

Need to sort bay window out of the craft stuff, so we can get the xmas tree up, I asked for help and ds2 said that "dad said we are not to help you clear your junk" not impressed

So pack away the Christmas tree Claire - they won't help, no Christmas spirit, no point decorating.

A family is either a team or its not - if its not then you don't have to do all the running around. Seeemples!!! No decorations, no presents, no Christmas cooking - sounds like a plan. So is it Chinese takeaway or pizza for Christmas dinner?;)

Eh? I know kids are inclined to play one parent off another but if what he's just said is true then words would be had  With Husband AND child.......

Oh and I agree don't put the tree up.......they don't deserve it.

Eek am saying some for those of you up in Scotland, is bad enough here and we are way down the country in comparison...hold onto your hats and roofs and chimney pots, am so glad we had our wall rebuilt or it would be down by now.

Am working at home much to dh's annoyance and trying to work out some very difficult number crunches which are doing my head in so diverting by sorting wm till brain fog clears.

:rotfl::rotfl: Just heard that they are referring to the wee bit wind we are having as "Hurricane Bawbag" ................. say one thing for the Scots - they have a wicked sense of humour.

Glasgow, Scotland origin, derogitary name given to one who is annoying, useless or just plain stupid. To compare one with such an ugly part of the male anatomy should be insult enough.
