Lovely to read your joy, Crickett. I wish you all the best and I'm sure that with such careful consideration, a warm and fulfilling life unfolds, whatever route is taken. Good idea to have both Plan A and Plan B. Either way brings so many wonderful potentials and thank you for sharing such momentous news with us!If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Can't say it better than Groatie's thoughtful words
I wish you every success and hope that either way your wish will come true.

Feel soooo much better today after a good night's sleep and a deep and meaningful conversation with my darling hubby. We have made a big decision to dedicate ourselves to starting a family. We have an idea of what we need to do (it is going to be tricky with some of my medical problems, so we know what we are up against) and we have given ourselves a deadline. If we have not conceived naturally by my 40th birthday (650 days), then we are going to start going down the adoption route. This is such a very exciting development, and also not a little scary. I have made a list of all the things we need to do, so stay tuned for the pitter patter of tiny cricketts!Obviously, all positive thoughts you can spare would be very gratefully received!!
I have this afternoon off work (hoorah!) and I am going home to write Christmas cards, wrap Christmas presents and get the house clean and tidy!I am really looking forward to it actually. Might put on a Christmas movie or two to encourage the festive mood!
Have a good day everyone and stay warm - it is BITTER out there.
Lots of love and positivity!
That is just brilliant news so lovely, am really happy for you and your day sounds just gorgeous too, very Christmassy

Teapot my heart goes out to you and your Godsons family, thoughts and love are with you all.
Crickett I'm really excited for you, the excitement and positivity shine through your post. If there's anything we can do to help please shout. (oh err, sounds a bit weird when you're TTC but you know what I mean!) When we were TTC we were recommended supplements from Dr Marilyn Glenville, they're very expensive but when I was taking them I produced too many eggs during that cycle of IUI so I saw this as a sign they were having a positive effect on my body!

MG sounds like the new room is flying ahead, can't wait to see it on the blog.
We've decided to have a big push forward here on the house too, and have realised that means finding the money to get some professionals in to help. Bit nerve racking paying out for other people to do things but I think it will be cost effective in the end.

Oooh lots of exciting things going on for folks by the sounds of it.:j
I can say that it is bitterly cold out there - I eventually went to the post office to add some money to my business account - reducing that overdraft to zero is my next plan. I walked up the hill to the shops as I wanted to go to Home Bargains for some Multipurpose Stardrops and found that they also sold Stardrops Disinfectant and on other shelves (why can't they keep the Stardrops together?) some with ammonia. I went into B&M to see what they had (like Home Bargains but they have more food) and discovered that they sold Stardrops Windowcleaner and Stardrops Anti Bacterial Surface Cleaner although they were slightly more expensive at 99p unlike the 89p in Home Bargains.
Aldi was my next stop - two little treats bought for my box (alas they had no pineapple marzipan) so I picked up a choccie reindeer for 99p and a box of tiny fox's party rings. I came away with some frozen stuff, some of their posh mince pies, a slab of christmas cake and a jar of sour cherry conserve which was 69p.
It is so cold out there and so bright that I went out wearing my ski balaclava (this is great as it keeps my ears and neck warm) and a pair of clip on sunglasses because the sun is really bright and the wind is howling.
Must admit that I have never heard of Box of Delights either. I have loads of DVDs that I haven't watched yet so maybe I will spend time over the holiday and watch them e.g. Walk the Line, Lavender Girls, and I may re-watch films such as Flushed Away & Kangaroo Jack (I have such strange tastes in films).
Have a good day folks - I need to ring my landlord so that his bodgits can come and repair my loo again:mad: It is not something that I can fix myself - the plastic wastepipe that fits into the wall has cracked so you can imagine that I get water etc on the floor all the time:mad: Why on earth can't they do the job properly?0 -

I really don't fancy carrying them through the garden in these winds. I could end up in Finland somewhere:rotfl:
Seriously - can't remember the last time I saw a red alert for Edinburgh - even last years snow didn't make that.
So I guess tomorrow is not a drying day then:D
