Ouch, poor DS2 that sounds horrendous! What a way to start the Easter Holidays :( Hope he has good painkillers and doesn't get under your feet too much!

Crickett - I wish I'd had the courage and opportunity to leave a job that was as bad for me as yours was for you a few years ago. Enjoy your freedom and know that you are doing what is right for you and that you will look for and find a better job with more supportive colleagues when the time is right - FOR YOU :)
  • Claire, what a shame for your poor DS2. Your boys seem to be accident magnets - I remember my brothers going through that phase. One fainted head first onto a concrete floor when he looked at an infected finger (he had been well warned not to look at it - he has always been very squeamish). He had two black eyes and a bent nose, (as well as the bandaged finger), and at the same time my other brother had a head bandage on - having had surgery to pin back his Nellie the Elephant ears. People did double takes in the street! :rotfl::rotfl:

I had to push a good 2 inches of snow off the car this morning in a blizzard, and it was tricky getting to the main road, and yet 2 minutes' drive and 200 feet closer to sea level, no snow was lying. Still got some snow lying tonight, so I've swept it off the front steps and laid salt in case there is an overnight freeze.

Still quite euphoric that missives are that much closer to being concluded. I'm now on a countdown for the number of journeys to work from here. I'll be saving 15 miles worth of petrol every day once I've moved, and there is a petrol station at the top of the road whereas here the nearest pumps are a good 6 miles away.

Crickett, I can understand the wee wobble but you really sound so much happier since you left work! Above all else your mental and physical health are worth it. It must be lovely having Dotty for company and exercise during the day. I hope the cats are adjusting.
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Ouchy for Ds Claire - is it a case of keeping moving or keeping still now? Poor thing and poor you too.

Ds is still hot and cold and has declared "cowpol" his favourite food - hopefully it is just one of the weird 1 day viruses that fairly little ones get as he is at a playdate and a birthday party tomorrow and will be devastated to miss them.

  • Ouchy Claire! Sending all good wishes to your DS!!

Thank you for all your really kind words. I have had a lovely, quiet kind of day. I have not really done much, but have had some really useful thinking time!

An amazing development on the job front! Do you remember me telling you that there was a friend of mine who has been working with the Audit Commission? Well, she spoke to someone and they have said they want me on staff. And they want me on staff very soon! And are prepared to take me without interview! :D I hope my friend hasn't hyped me too much!! It is very exciting. I have sent my CV to the correct recruitment agency this evening and I will be following it up with a telephone call tomorrow. Who knows, maybe after Easter I will be an auditor again! :) We shall see!! The best thing about it is it will be a contract position. Maybe, if they need me every 6 months or so, it could be my top income source, but topped off by other things throughout other times in the year? Not sure, but it is germ of an idea.

Right all. Night night! See you again in the morning!! :)

Good Morning! Up and at 'em early this morning. Have taken the beastie for a morning walk through whipping rain and snow. Nice!! NOT! We both got very cold and wet. On the upside though, I got microdermabrasion for free!! :D

Hope everyone on the Matrix has a great day! My plans are very few. Just going to relax and potter I think! :D

I remember you saying last year you positively liked auditing. No accounting for tastes:rotfl:. But that would be fantastic if it comes off. This could well be an opportunity to shape a working life that gives you enough time for yourself - and Dotty (not forgetting the cats, cats sulk if you forget them):j
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

Ds started being sick last night but his vocab button was also in overdrive and we had some in depth discussions about life, the universe and everything - seriously we put his whole life from birth in order and discussed everybody he knows (and he knows an awful lot of people) comments such as "Mum what does vimto even mean? and Do you know sometimes when miss isn't looking my behaviour on the carpet is absolutely dreadful" kind of tell you the level we were at - he is only 5!

So today is realx, playdate with lots of brews then birthday party also with lots of brews then early sleep!
