Leaving your job was not sensible; which is OK since sensible is not the thing to do most of the time. It is the thing that limits our horizons and kills the joy of life.
Sorry, putting big ideas around again and half expecting someone to tell me to stop. But what is wrong with big ideas?
Crickett, accept that you were not sensible; you were brave and audacious. Take some time off and have a good think about what you really will be doing with the next decade of your life (anything longer locks you into the 'sensible' again). There are many systematic ways to do this. Than go for it with all you have - no worry, no regrets, no sensibilities.

Sorry, gang, but yesterday I was too eager to give you the bad news that I forgot that something wonderful and completely unexpected happened.
The Money Principle (this is my blog) was one of the five blogs listed as 'mighty sites' by TotallyMoney (this is the top PF blog in the UK bar MSE). This was done using a combined ranking measure and was very welcome by us. It is recognition both for our effort and for our readers.
Hell, I am chuffed!

MG: Happy holidays whatever the weather.
Weekly housework blitz done, just ironing left:jGoing to have an afternoon of sewing and pottering. Still feeling a bit tired but already a lot of the weird symptoms are abating, so thank goodness for finally getting the right medication. Beginning to feel like my old self and that's only after a week.:j

But I went to choir practice and the closer I got to Nottingham the more stressed I got. It was really weird. Anyway... I do feel better for having time at home and poddling around doing stuff. I am making my house a home, and that is a really important job.
Dotty is just wonderful! She has helped to make the house a home and has certainly helped my fitness! My jeans nearly fell off me this morning as I was walking her! :rotfl::j
Crickett you did the sums, you know you can manage, so yes you were entirely sensible. Your health and well being do not have a monetary value. It will simply take time to adjust to the lack of a working life's routine, but you will create new routines and it will all fall into place. Think how much time you are having with Dotty, you would not have that if you were working. It will be fine.0 -
Anyone who thinks the first night after moving into a new house is about anything other than flopping onto a bed fully clothed (because you can't find your PJs) is either a lot more energetic or a lot more organised than I would be:rotfl:
What! You mean you hava managed to assemble the bed!!??? :rotfl:"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

:rotfl: Marru, nothing tests a relationship like IKEA flat pack!!!
Congratulations FW :j
Robsmum, so pleased to hear you're finally getting the correct treatment. I really hope the rest of those symptoms will clear up super fast, and that you'll not have to visit anyone else medical for ages

TMIF - hope work is going okay after your news last week.
Aww, how kind of you to think of me- I am truly touched x
If I am honest, it's horrible, and I really don't want to be here...
How they expect everyone to carry on just as normal until "they" decide is beyond me.
I have come to the conclusion that it will be vile here whether I "survive" or not!
So, I am applying for jobs elsewhere... b***** the work, if they don't need me in August, they can do without me today as well :T
I am however obviously going to apply for 'my' job, I can do it, I am good at it, and I have as much chance as the other 14. Even mathematically I have a 1 in 3 chance...!0 -
Cavity wall insulation people are here - well been here for past hour and a half. 2 men with very big drills and a very long hose as far as I can see:rotfl::rotfl:. Unfortunately they had to drill from the inside in the bedroom ( had been told they could reach that part of wall from outside by the first person who came round which meant me and DD2 had to spring into action to move furniture - not least the bed - had been on my list of to do's this week so that is ticked off a little sooner than expected - crikey where does that fluff come from:eek: Good job we plan to redecorate the bedroom sometime this year. Also got to have a vent fitted in kitchen wall as we have a solid fuel stove and it has to have some air to draw on - this job is getting bigger by the minute.
Just had knock on door they are cleaning up now so all done:TBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Today was going really well - kitchen and utility scrubbed and floors shining, even had td and wm out and scrubbed them inside and out and behind.
Ds now curled up in our bed declaring himslef ouchy, cold and tired so have calpol'd him and he has nodded off - doesn't seem to be the bug the rest of us have had but chickenpox and end-of-school-itis are also doing the round, as is measles but he has had the jab.
